Thread: Quick Question about Grenade Grinding

I just went out to a Giant Baz Nitch lair to try to get some Combat exp for the last two skills of commando. I'm using C22 Frag Grenades right now, which arn't quite as good as Imp Det or Thermals, but still have Ap1. My question is how do you stay alive? I'm wearing 70% Blast Comp armor right now, only 4 so I'll still have the ability to Regenerate Fairly nice, I was also buffed with like 2500 buffs I believe. Any ideas what I should do, or what I"m doing wrong?

you shouldn't be dying from them in that kind of armour. make sure your armour is also highly resistant to kinetic damage.
I take on 10 baz's at once with nades and never had an issue, even when my chest armour was at 0 condition i still lived. and i don't have any medic skills at all.
Armour i use is:
Composite:
80% kinetic
62% blast

Yea thats what I was thinking, I can usually take on stuff no problem. Maybe it was just that time, so I'll try again.

The thing about grinding on Giant baz is that it beats the armor down fast. You're taking damage from the Baz and from the grenade. I know that using Imperial Detonaters, you are losing about 3-4 condition on your chestplate PER 1 grenade. It's disgusting.
Just make sure that your armor is good versus Kinetic AND Blast.
Your best bet is to get a stat migration and get everything into your mind, and then wear the best effect sliced armor on your server. I am running around wearing 85-90% comp and it does very well. 70% is standard on most comp but I wouldn't get that low. With a stat migration and a good dance/music/doctor buff, you're set for a really good time.

Yea, I went and got a suit of my good armor with 88%-89% effectivenesss, all but Electricity which is the special resistance or whatever. I killed about 2 or 3 missions of these Giant Baz Nitches, but for some reason, I wasn't even watching my health on the last one, and I died again for some reason. I'll have to try it out again today and see what happens. I found out that the first time I did it, my boots were dead so that could have been why I died the first time, but need to try it out again and find out why I died the last time.
Btw, do you guys wear a full suit, or do you wear the 4 suit armor? What skills do you have along with Commando 4000. And what is he difference between Imp Dets and Thermals?

No need for a full suit, just the 4 pieces. Gloves, boots, chestplate and helmet.

I used a full suit of 70% armor for the whole grind. Just one suit...What really keeps your armor alive and your HAMs up, is a little thing called CENTER OF BEING...but odviously it's a melee only ability.

first off to say you are getting beat up as a commando, well of course, i actually was not paying attention and died that way, i picked up tk with it and well no problems after that, After you get some decent melee defense and little things like that it should help alot. a bit of medic also comes in handy if you can spare the 15 sp as well
