Hello,
I'm a nooblet force sensitive guy, working on Jedi Initiate.
I know nothing of the Lightsaber tree, or what makes a good one. I have a few questions:
Firstly...
I don't plan on going Lightsaber master. I assume the far right tree is a must, is there any difference between the 1-hand saber, 2-hand saber and the dual blade saber? If so, what is it? Does one make more sense than the other to master if you don't intend on master the full lightsaber master tree?
Secondly...
I understand that you can't tell the stats of a pearl/crystal until you tune it and keep it for yourself. Is premium the best quality crystal/pearl?
Do some sabers only use crystals?
How many crystals/pearls do the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen sabers use?
If more than one, what does mixing them do?
Are there any resources I need to collect for making a saber other than crystals/pearls?
Thanks!

1. From what I hear, if you're not Master Lightsaber, you can't kill anything. One-Handed has a mind hit, Two-Handed has a health hit, and Polearm has an action hit. Polearms do the most damage, so most people grind that one first.
2. Flawless is the best, but premium is the best attainable rating. I know the first gen lightsaber only holds 1 color crystal, but I'm not sure about the rest. You can only put one color crystal in a saber, but you can put multiple damage crystals in.

lightsaber is a must for pvp and very helpful for pve. as far the trees go. 1 hand targets the mind, 2-hand the health and polearm the action. Polearm is the highest damage while 1-hand the weakest. The specials, speed bonus, and saber block make this one of the few master worthy boxes

I appreciate the concern about not mastering it, I am a long ways away from initiate so I certinally have time to think about it, but I have my heart set on another master box.
Is the most powerful attack for each at the 4th box a random pool attack or a pool-specific attack? Thats good to know that 1-hand targets mind as that is all the rage right now, but that its the weakest is also key.
Does the far right line have pool specific attacks?

Most ppl tend to pick up polarm first - since it gives you an area attack at the first box.
- thus speeding up the long grind, even if they plan on only go 4.0.0.4

Im 0044 and I can kill a Kimo so Im thinking that should give you a idea its a must to have this at least X X X 4 any of the X's up to the 4th box would be key to make a good 3rd gen saber... 400 damage 10 force cost would be nice... it would do anywhere between 5 - 8 k damage to npcs and creature mobs.. with master it goes up if you have decent stuff to put in the saber..

Where can I get a lightsaber crafting tool?
Do you have to be wearing your robe to use your lightsaber?

you can wear any clothes you want, robe just gives bonuses of some kind i think, armor can be worn but reduces sabre/force effectiveness by 90%, or so i hear. not so sure about the crafting tools...

The crafting tool and the schematic to make then should drop as soon as you unlock jedi. At that point you get a schematic for the tool and a trainign saber and the refined crystal packs.
It takes conductivity to makea saber crafting tool kit, the higher the better.
Anyone can use a tool made by anyone, unlike the sabers who only the owner can use.
They are tradeable and droppable.
But getting the tool on a non fs toon will not allow you to make sabers, even if youre fs you cant till you get the training saber.

As soon as you get Jedi Intiate you get the schematics for a Lighsaber Crafting tool, a Refined Crystal Pack, and a Training Lightsaber.
This will be about your 8th padawan trial, and to complete it, you have to build a training lightsaber and tune a colour crystal.

Oh, and you can use a lightsaber whatever your wearing, even armour, however, when wearing armour (including PSG's)and using a lighsaber, you cant use specials, or force powers, and damage will be greatly reduced.
