I've been an avid PvP'r on Bria for about 7 of my 9 months in this game. When they decided to change the path to becoming a jedi from the holo-grind to the village-grind it pretty much killed PvP for a bit, so I figured what the heck, I like to change my template from time to time and keep things fresh, why not try this prof?
I get to keep my PvP temp (M rifles M fencer at the time), I can do it at my leisure, no biggie, right? Then I hear about the grenade thing so I go 3xxx commando, get some Imp Det's and go to work(there by ruining my fun PvP temp). But man did it go quick, I was done saving xp by phase 4 and re-built my toon to PvP while I awaited my 6th line.
After unlocking and finishing the paddy trials I immediatly made my alt a nice PvP template so I could still go out and have some fun....wait....is that saying grinding Jedi isn't fun? Yes, grinding a jedi is where fun goes to die (for me).
This warning is for those of you fed up with the FS grind, if grinding isn't your thing, then save yourself the time now, don't go paddy the grind is 10x's worse i can 100% guarntee (sp?). If you didnt know a lox level jedi gets about 600-700 xp per kill, bottom "tier" boxes cost 200k, 2nd tier 400k, 3rd tier 800k, 4th tier 1.6 mil and a master box is 3.2 million jedi xp. for a good template you need two masters and 4xx4 of another dicipline.
If you are having fun and enjoy this game right now don't ruin it for yourself, unless you enjoy grinding and "finishing" a game, there are many who do. But also realize this...most jedi you see runing around overt are not the people who unlocked and grinded those jedi out, i knew quite a few people who unlocked and grinded out jedi to the end pre and post pub 10, NOT ONE OF THEM STILL PLAYS, of course the jedi's never die they go to friends, family or E-Bay, the lesson here is this, Most people who enjoy PvP or PvE with a group of friends does not enjoy a long grind, and most people who enjoy a long grind are lost and uneffective when they come out to PvP or PvE with us, so they get bored and quit, the question you FS grinders need to think about before you commit all this time is, which kind of player are you?
I love Star Wars and would really enjoy being a jedi just for the Star Warsy feel, but the grind is too much for me, I believe I'll bow out.
on a side-note, to get a more Star Warsy feel for the game, I made a melee stacker who can hang with the toughest of Knight's and have a blast playing my role
hope this helped at least one person save some time and have some fun.

I've considered it, he's TKM, 4xxx medic, xx4x fencer, all jedi nov's andxx2x LS and xxx2 enhancer, although I somehow doubt polearLeghit2 is going to be very effective in PvP hahaha....although it should be...man that would hurt!

LoL, after rewarding yourself with paddy just enjoy it, dont just go out and dead grind. thats what the fs is for..just go use him for fun and pretend its someone you hate each time you attack it.
makes it much more fun.

thing is i dont ever feel like grindin on him cause i know i'll be done with this game long before i'm done with him, so i choose to use my time here pvp'n with my friends, or collecting things to make me a better pvp'r thats fun to me, I'm not saying noone will have fun or want a jedi but my bet is alot of people wont.

I am going to go Jedi for the content and RP of it. Poor guy will be an outcast and won't see town much anymore, ducking for cover, hiding his identity.
His alt who will arrive from the outer rim, will take over my current template and fill the place of the "outcast". I will still PVP with the new guy, and have fun when I want with "the outcast".
People need to relax, have fun, socialize and not constantly grind. I mean, I grind, but then I get board and do something else till I feel likekilling piles of Rancors again.
And, I do not change my template to Grind, it may be faster but it is not any fun.

to get a more star warsy feeling you made a melee stacker. What is star warsy about this? Star wars is pistols and blasters, not hammers and swords.

I don't disagree, but the feel of it for me is in fighting jedi, wether or not that follows the actual Lucas story line or not doesn't matter, as there should be no jedi here anyway so... hehe, gotta have fun somehow.

Completely wrong, if that was the case their would not be as many Jedi as there are now and you know it.

Not everyone wants a jedi, but prolly most people do want it. However seeing as it takes about 3 months to get from zero to hero, let alone the FS grind and those quests, most people decide to not get it.
Also since jedi is by far not as powerful as everyone claims in PVP and plain and simple sucks in PVE cause they can't wear armor most people rather stay rifleman, TKM or swordsman.
And don't forget the resources you need for sabers which cost about 200 CPU on our server and the pearls and crystals you need and I can tell you that you'll need premiums or flawless, cause out of the 43fair, quality and good crystals I had, 2 qualities tuned -5 36/36 and -9 6/6 and a good one tuned -5 33/33.
So I gotta kill some krayts to be able to use dervish1 more efficiently and effectively.

The current game mechanics does not allow this. You need to get to jedi knight as fast as possible and in secret. Otherwise a bounty hunter will come by and kill your padawn easially. You'll always be at negative exp if you just play your jedi. Once you hit jedi knight and exp no longer matters, then you can just play your jedi.
