I did my phase 3 quest tonight, the melee accuracy one of course.
I had a heck of a time finding a group first of all. Nearly no one was online on my friends list. Only people from the guild that was online were mostly crafters. So I had to get a group together. I tried the Mining Outpost, Theed, Coronet and Bestine. Finally I joined a solo group and got to talking to some guys in there and they agreed to help me out, awesome.
We meet at the Science Outpost. Myself (TKM) and a few others ranging from Commando, Rifleman, TKM. I have never met these guys, but still they came to my aid and we had a blast. We go to the Sith base, it is only 500m from the Outpost. This is where it got fun. I had trouble bringing down the shields but finally figured it out. So we go in with blasters blazing, flames flying high and wild, and with fist of furry. The Sith gang up on me, 3 of them. So of course they made short work of me. But my friends are chilling in the tent with no worries. Thats cool, they are safe and I'm only 500m away now. I ride in and dodge all the wild blaster fire and fall into the tent. I grab the prisoner and say "Lets get the hell outta here", we burst run out and into the bottom of a hill. I wait on a guy to catch up and we regroup.
Now it got real fun. We are faced with about a 7k m walk to the village. And I don't have anything but novice scout. So the 4 of us proceed to walk that distance holding off Sith ambushes every so ofton and dodging all the fliers and spiders that roam the plains and mountains of Dathomir. We make our way to the blue mist of the Village, I begin to celebrate but then realize..."This guy can still drop dead at any instant." So we make our last dash, only to be jumped by one more Sith....ahh....so close...but wait. My very excellant group has my back and they eliminate while I go into the gate, a group members cues the Olympic Theme Song and I take the prisoner to the Captain. Mission Accomplished.
There are hugs and cheers, laughs, ale and yes even some tears. And one /airguitar, i'm a sucker for the air guitar. And of course one swell teal crystal.
Granted, my mission is no different then any other. But it felt good to group with others again, to work as a team and achieve our goal together. I haven't walked 7k m in this game for a long long time...and I'm glad I did, it gave us time to chat and play the game with a group, the way an MMO should be. This mission gets a bad reputation for being too hard or what not. But I wouldn't have it any other way after experiencing it. Tonight this game felt a little more like Star Wars then it has for a long time. That is why I say it feels like the old days.
And one huge thanks to the guys that helped me out.
Ok this might have been a worthless post, but I wanted to share my experience with you all.

It's always good to hear someone finding a good time and enjoying themselfs. I hope one day (maybe with the CU) we'll see more of the old days with grouping up and just having a good time, without worrying about xp, credits, loot, or other junk. Just hang with other guys and enjoy

Totally agree. I did this over the weekend with my mate. Although we ended up both unbuffed, trying to drag the commander 5k to the village, me FD'ing every time we get jumped and him drawing them away.
It was fun having to walk everywhere again, and reminded us of being scared sh*tless and unbuffed on Dath back in the day. A clash of thunder even made me jump out my skin! lol
Unfortunately my connection died 1.3k from the village and by the time I got back the ole fella had expired. So looks like I got some more walking to do! ;-)

Epic group fights with a real risk of being wiped out are definitely the most exciting part of the game right now.

I didn't liked this quest. Well.. I don't really like to group. I'm not even in a guild anymore. Can be a disadvantage from time to time but I like it this way.
Sure I love to interact with other players, even have chat in group chat of solo groups. But since our guild broke appart, I'm not in the mood anymore for guilds, groups and such things.
I was happy, when we finished that quest with the easy way and I don't even feel lame about it. Quest done, branch grinded, next one can come. Plane and simple.
It have my fun with other things but not the FS grind (but I don't start to complain about it).
cheers

Not worthless at all. This phase mission is by far the most enjoyable of all of them i think. It's like a capture the flag type thing, except the flag is an npc.
Great to hear you had fun though. That's all that really and truly matters.

Great to hear some one is stil having fun, and not one of the multiple complainers....if they hate the game so much, go to another one....this guy had a blast...he got emotional with the dangerous trek....good for him...i commend him and his group...the game is more about guilds and groups (interaction) with a little star wars thrown in for good measure...i don't grind, never have, i just play doing what i need to do, or i want to do that day...try not to treat this as work people....no need to fill all boxes in a week...why rush? also, hop off that swoop every now and then, walk from 1 end of endor and back unbuffed.....it will change the way u feel about the game LOL...take a weaker character with you too...escort one of the many crafters.....u will both get a kick out of it and before u know it..BAM...XP is capped...

I really like the post all you hear now days is murmering, and ya i think the mission is a cool mission so many people just want to hurry and grind they don't take the time to have fun. Its funny that these are the same people that cry about the grind while passing up the fun moments of the game
