Well, it took me three tries tonight, but I finally got him and his group of Sith. I'm pure melee and he was a fun fight each time. Very satisfying to go toe-to-toe with him and take him down.
I'll say one thing about the village missions, if you do the right ones, they totally prepare you for this battle.
Without further ado, here's how it's done for those that would like to try it:
Step 1: Be prepared. Suit up in good armor, get nice buffs, and have your food/drink/spice ready. If you don't have a high damage weapon, you might not want to bother. A good dot weapon comes in handy if you have one as well. Also, Imp PSG's are great for this, grab a crate as he'll take them out fast.
Step 2: Use brains, not brawn. Swoop through the camp on your bike and pull the aggro away from the crystals and peace them only after they are out of the camp. Mellichae tends to stand back so you can use this time to pick off his Sith friends including his buddy with the matching robot arm. Once they're down, make sure Mel is out of the camp and destroy the crystals one by one doing the green ones first. When they're gone, more Sith will spawn and Mel may aggro you again. Use same tactic to separate from him and pick them off.
Step 3: Rest. Take this time to prepare yourself for the upcoming fight, it's not easy. No armor is necessary for this one so take it off, you'll need the faster regen on HAM. Take your Synthsteak at this time and Vercupti and Brandy. Keep your Muon handy, you'll need it if you really get in trouble. Try not to use it if you don't have to. The downer will ruin you. Put your PSG on now.
Step 4: Rumble. Hit him with Intimidate. Stun if you have it as well. Pick a HAM bar and wail on it. If you have a DOT weapon, use it and keep the DOT on him at all times. If you find yourself in trouble, run away from him. You can keep aggro while he's out of range and still heal yourself. Repeat until he's finished.
This is just a guide. If you have a better way, go for it. This worked for me. The most important thing to remember is just enjoy the fight. If you die, no worries. Start again. Enjoy!

I like this guide over the other ones I have read. These methods compliment my template much more than the others. Thanks!

Interesting guide but honestly, i find this to be too diffuclt without a group.
I have some good friends who will help me with mellichae when the time comes.

Definitely, the Melichae beatdown is a great guild event. RBN and a few other Canejo guilds got together about a week ago to help one of our own past the Malichae gate, and it was over within minutes. I never even saw Melichae himself, I tanked one of the bigger Sith and kept him out of it until the firing squad bothered to pick him up asa target.
I rather the solo-strategem, and commend it's user for the patience and tactical acuity that brought it about, but five minutes with friends and Jawa beer afterwards is just plain better in my book.

Ya i agree. The guild I am with and myself helped an old friend of mine from my original guild to complete this quest. Mell was a fun person to kill especially wehn u have 3 rifleman and 2 tkm's having at it with 2 or 3 jedi helping as well
It was a great guild event and I was proud to have been apart of it. Now I await phase 4 and phase 1 to complete my training and get my Mell quest.

Sounds like fun. Personally I plan on inviting my guild with me on this mission. Last night one of my guildies finnaly got his Mel quest. So we all buffed up and about 20 of us charged in. In less than 5 minutes we were collecting him as a trophy. I think it is a lot more fun to take him in a large group. Also in our guild it is a lot like a right of passage. Im not jewish but I kinda think of Mel as a Bar mitsva for young jedi. Today is the day you become a man...... HOUPAAAA HOUPAAAA!!!
