Well, if you're a melee profession, wouldn't having extra speed mean the grinding could take a little less time?

you have days worth of grinding anyway, whats the worry?
Actually I have five branches completed and also have 1225K spare FS Combat XP ready to spend... So looking that way it is extremly annoying.

I'm in the same position. If you're referring to the new time gate in the Dageerin quests, then I share your frustration

Looks like the devs thought the 3 weeks waiting is not enough...

Yeah first they let us wait an other day on Phase 2, and then they delay the quests

I agree with your frustration ppl, but I can see why the DEVS have done this.....
Think about it....All those ppl in the village getting the quests x 8 for the number they would do, would put quite an overhead on the server. By limiting it to 3 quests means that ppl aint gona be hanging around the village still doing quests, so less overhead on the server.
Hope thats clear.
Still frustrating tho'
But then again whats better, being able to do the 3 quests, or none cause the server is on its back again?

Without being able to do quests, they will just sit in the village crafting or AFK tumbling for docs or so. They have to do something, most of them already have the xp needed to train the branch, so this will not limit the load on the village. Not to mention the stupid grind for Crafting, I am sitting in the village crafting X-34's. I cap on 50.000 xp, so I have to convert every 3 mins or so ![]()

sorry Rhadida, I was unclear in my post...
Its not the number of people in the village that will increase the load on the server (although it does, but that is in addition), its the fact that the server(s) also have to have sith camps and everything else in addition to them, to control and keep running sweet.
When you take missions from a mission terminal your target is not created at that time, but instead you are given a new waypoint when you get within 250m of your target. With the Village Quests, melee speed inparticular, you are given a waypoint and the camp is active from the point you are given the waypoint.
Now lets say you got 100 people doing that quest, thats 100 camps already active around the villiage. PPL swooping to the villiage may run into your camp and take it out, what happens then, server gives you another waypoint?...who knows, but it all boils down to more resource.
I'm not saying what they have done is right, just can see why they have done it. Alot of ppl thinks its a way to slow down ones progress to jedi, but I think we should step back and look at the bigger picture.
Besides I think they are doing a good enough job of putting people off of taking jedi with the bounty hunter scenario, but thats a different thread...lol
Some people dont even want jedi they just want a free slot
Frustration it is!

The gating of quests to decrease server load is a poor excuse at best. Its poor implementation in the first place that has caused all FS quests, which are the only fresh content in the game atm, to be centralized and run out of one city. Dry POIs have made this even more of a hassle. Sony made an active decision to pump the entire playerbase through Dathomir, and rather than come up with personalized content (perhaps missions on other planets or in the now perma-empty POI's) they have chosen to gate the quests. Im not impressed in the least at this genuine lack of effort on the part of Sony, however between EQ and SWG I have come to expect the absolute cheapest solution. Content has been replaced by hype, and the hype leads to waiting, which leads to more months of subscription. I have to give it to Sony though, they certainly have a knack for riding the edge. Somehow they manage to keep subscriptions active despite their blatant disinterest in the desires of their playerbase.

Don't want a jedi, all I want is melee speed and accuracy. And a second slot.
