Hi, I did this last time it came around so I hope I can help.

What I did was use a probot, it went right up to the turrets, and killed them one by one, and the turrets didn't even shoot back at it.

But they have supposedly changed a few things since I did it so your mileage may vary.

Some things we had to contend with that I don't know if they were changed or not are:

1: Commander wouldn't run, or go up or down hills very well. If you lost him he would sometimes just warp back to the base. This made the two closest bases the only viable option.

If this is still the case I would suggest doing what I did. I took a whole day to map out a route, with waypoints to lead the commander through as many little ravines as possible without going up any steep hills. Once I had this, I met up with another player in the village who needed the questand sent them the Waypoints (Hi Mawek, how ya been?), and we were set there.

2: Turrets: like i wrote at the top, the droid thing worked, might be different now.

3: Codes: I farmed for codes for 2 days, that way I could turn in a bunch of them to try and get the closest base. *tip- The codes can come from anywhwere, so pick a far off base to do this, that way you aren't racing near as many players to Sith patrols to get them.

4: Only two get credit, but it helps to have more:

Make a committment here, If somebody helps you, you commit to turn right around and help them. I did the quest 3 times, once for myself, and twice more to help people that helped me. The next 2 times were easy since I had done all my homework, and since I had farmed so many codes, I had 3 for the closest base.

This can take a long time, but it sure beats "bols and pickets north" and you would be surprised at the loot you can get by the time it's all done. I actually got 5 low level aa's out of the whole thing, plus some pretty good xp, and was fun and got your heart going at times.

Good luck with this quest, it is tough, but when you finally get it done, the feeling of accomplishment just can't be matched. Don't give up, no matter how disheartening it gets, If you take all the right steps it's very doable.

One finaly thing, I waited a week because of all the prep work, and because since the commander was so slow, everybody was fighting for that close base, after a week the players started to thin out and it was doable.

Hope this helps

LOL

So the end has begun for SWG. Mis-management and not hearing the acual players voice has killed my love. And I got scammed into purchasing Trails of Obi Wan to boot.
