Thread: We just killed Mellichae
Reb4Life wrote:Hi guys, just wanted to let you know that this is possible under the new system. We used rifleman, BHers, pistoleers a CH a low level jedi and some melee chars. The trick is to get rid of all the crystals and sith as usual, then pull daktar (? can't remember his name lol) away from mellichae using the pet. Riflemen pound on him while pistoleers alternate root and the BH uses KD. Surprisingly the rilflemen do alot of dmg to him, well I guess he doesn't have that much health anyways.
Next you will use the same tactics for mellichae, the melee people also ran up to pound on him when he was trying to get to us. Mel goes down remarkably quickly under a hail of riflefire as well. I was surprised how much dmg the pet took (BE blurg type creature). But mel didn't have much chance to get to us anyways with the roots, KDs and the kneecap shots. We did have a few false starts on mel tho, he managed to get into our group the first time and aoed us for 4.5k dmg eachBTW, the jedi was used for healing (1500 per heal + infusion). The point is that he's doable.
Either you got lucky or SOE sneaked in a fix. Those crystals were immortal last time I saw it.

My problem is with the crystals. There are two green and two red. I can take out one of the green ones, but the other green one drops to zero and just hangs there. The red ones and Mellichae have automatic healing so it doesn't matter how much damage you do do them, they can restore to full health in one heal. Is there a way around this? I know there is an order to taking out the crystals, but my only choice seems to be the green ones first and since one of them won't destroy - I'm stuck. I've tried it a couple of times now.
so far there is no way around this issue, the devs are working on it currently but no ETA has been given, i am also waiting on the fix, a little disappointed since i cant take advantage of double xp week

Same problem for a friend I was trying to help. Green ones are indeed supposed to be first, but my friend also had a green crystal reach zero condition but not destroy.

Same here. Tried it last nite with a few guildies. So I guess Ill have to sit and wait and no double xp for me
last night, thursday 5/6, i tried to kill mellichae with about 20 to 25 other people. the red ones would not go down. got them to 1k sometimes b4 they would heal back to full was reall annnoying and irritating. we just simply could not destroy the red ones. the green ones went down real easy
good luck and i hope this gets fixed

Okay, last night (Wednesday) we made a lot of progress on Mellichae.... By coincidence, a few reb bases were less than 200m from where my mission is, so we pulled the thugs (easy), the Mercs (lvl 63, below most elite lvls), and Daktar (the NPC's did the work on him!) out to the bases. When Daktar came out, Melli was with him, and got down to about 50% HAM thanks to the reb NPC's before he ran back to the mission point. We had a jedi, a few lvl 80's, ch & 2 riflemen in group, plus a doctor/elite combat. BEFORE pulling anyone, the rifleman took out ALL of the crystals! Sorry, but the statement that it "either is bugged or it isn't" cannot be true, because it worked as it should for us. Green, green, then the red, process of elimination to see which were still being healed, but no crystal hit zero and stayed there. If this is happening, it IS a bug. But my point is it's not happening everywhere, perhaps it's a terrain specific problem, dunno, that's not my forte.
SO, we killed the crystals, with retreat back to the bases whenever the rifleman was detected. As the fourth crystal was ko'd, Melli auto aggroed us, and four of us were dead instantly. Not only does he do 3k-7k dmg with one hit, I think it's an area & he has force run 3. So don't think you're safe 100m out from the mission, cuz most of us died. And rezzed, and tried again. And again. Pulling him to the base then, since it worked so beautifully with Daktar.... and the NPC's don't aggro Melli, for some reason. I think the reason they did when he came out there with Daktar was due to an NPC area attack.
So, I think that if anyone wants to take him out it will require multiple tanks (melee/jedi) to sacrifice themselves at close range while about 10 riflemen hit him as fast and as hard as they can. Maybe double the number of each..... Which of course is MORE than one group no matter what! So yeah, his level needs to be adjusted.... encouraging group play is one thing, requiring a player to find 40 people to help him, 30 of which must die, is unreasonable.
And no, I haven't killed him yet either.

Was this the old level 134 Mellichae or the new level 85 Mellichae?
Personally I have had the crystal bug on my attempts, and have had everyone one hit killed by him. But I couldn't play last night so I haven't had a chance to try the new lower level Mellichae.
One question I have for people who have done this, is it possible to take out Mellichae without fighting Daktar, or shouldwe be tryring to kill him first since he is now a higher level?
After grinding 12 hours a day to finish fs I didn't expect to have to spend a couple of weeks doing nothing, it is really annoying. Hopefully I will get it done this weekend

This is proof positive that the statement, "either is bugged or it isn't", is absolutely true. It works for some people, is borked for others.
