well yesterday in my 2nd run we managed to kill Melichae with a group of 6.

1st you should do b4 assambling a full group is make sure all crystals can be destroyed. (thats why my 1st run failed, one crystal was bugged.)

for this best ask a rifleman (if you are not one yourself) to come with you and take out all 4 crystals

then call in the group

you should have at least 1 doc or CM (we had a master CM) and at least one with a root attack

keep pulling small groups of thugs and avoid agro on mel or dak if you agro hem jump your speeder and drive till you lose agro (exception if you get single agro on mel)

do this TILL you get mel on single agro, pull him a BIT away, root him, kill him ... took us about an hour all in all, be patient on the killing off of the sith or you will fail.

in the "Melichae is now lv 85" threat i also found this usefull info about the bugged crystals

Earlier in the day I a huge group attacking the crystals, I think this was the problem. I had many failed attempts with a bugged crystal always being the end result. So me and a mate (I was Master Rifleman + CM, he was Master Swords + CM) went to take a look and check the crystals again later. I done the crystals 2 green then 2 red and low and behold they destoyed with minimum fuss. I was the only one attacking the crystals my mate only help to heal me and help fight the sith when they become aware, usualy after the 2nd green crystal goes bang. After the final red crystal was destroyed we backed off and requested a group. Within 10 minutes we had a 15 strong group consisting of different Jedi, Melee and Ranged, we dragged away lvl 100 Daktar and murdered him in a few seconds. Then basically just bulldozed our way through the rest of the camp.

This may not work for everyone but it seems if the mission holder can take the crystals alone they will destroy as normal.
