Thread: Jedi Initiate or Padawan? Which comes after final Mallichae Quest?!

I know this seems like a really stupid question, but I often read posts which I interpret as after the Village and the dreaded Mallichae quest you instantly become a Padewan?! Thats not right is it? Going by the Force Progress tree you become an Initiate first then a Padewan.
This is a trivial question really, as I do have still quite a way to go before I finish, but would like someone just to clarify this.
If this is answered in a sticky which I have overlooked please direct me.

You don't even become an Initiate, that happens in the middle of the trials after you craft your lightsaber.

That's correct. Upon defeat of Mellichae, you can meditate at any Force Shrine and begin your Padawan trials. There are 16 of these trials, and after completion of the 9th (crafting of your training saber and tuning of a color crystal) you are granted the title of Initiate. Upon completion of the 16th trial, you meditate at a Shrine again and are granted the title of Padawan and you receive your Force pool.

You kill the wannabe Sith lord and get a waypoint to the shrine and you press your radial menu "meditate"
You start your trail and half way thrue the trials a quest is to craft a lightsaber and to tune a crystal after that you gain the rank of initiate and completion of the trials gives you the rank of Padawan wich you will remain until knight

Brilliant! Thanks everyone, I did get confused by that! 
One last question (well, 2 actually), how hard are the 16 trials? Do you have to solo or can you get friends to help if it gets abit rough, like the Mallichae?

None of the trials are difficult from a combat aspect - you do not require assistance. There are a couple that will require you to exercise good judgement when conversing with the NPC's and making decisions, though.

All the trials are soloable with ease to Padawan.
As with another poster, be careful on how you speak with some of the trial npc's. Also you might want to speak to some of them more than once before heading out to do what they want you to do.

there is a guide which tells you what to say to each NPC (it actually tells you how to do all of the trials i think), so make sure you look through it first

yeah, i forgot to mention that this might ruin it for some people. seen someone post before that he did it normally, but then checked the guide to see if he had done it correctly before continuing. just thought i would tell people that there is a guide just in case they dont want to f**k up the trials
