Thread: POLL: Are you a ranged or melee grinder? Then, what is the best Padawan template?

all wrong. doctor/rifles. Most bh's are going to root/snare you and whatnot. With some good rifle skills and whatn not you dont have to use your crappy saber to fighthem. Plus you can use force heals as well as bacta heals. I can beatpretty much anybh with no problem with this template. Plus you get buffs to help you grind.

This is the template i was most considering going with. melee professions may give you better saber skills, but rifle/doc will probably be your best bet to fend of a BH during the the transitional periodto a higher level jedi.
Grinding Fss temp:
MBH- 900k combat xp cap,900k carbines, rifle, pistol xp cap
Teras Kasi Master- Innate armor(no need to buy armor) and 1.1 mil tk xp cap
if u cap to 900k carbines, rifle, pistol xp and 1.1 mil tk xp that leaves you with 380k combat xp which i used c12's after that to 900k combat xp. Once you get to village and convert everything thats 900k combat= 300k fss, 900k cap on rifles, carbines, and pistols=30k fss xp each so 90k fss xp, 1.1 mil tk xp=40k fss xp.So in a grinding session that is 430k fss xp which is like 1/3 of a tree.
best padwan temp imo:
i just finshed fss, waiting on old man atm,i just respected to master tk(for improved center of being whcih adds 500 defense points and innate armor),0/4/0/0 pikeman(that line in pikeman has lots of general mele acuarcy and improved leg hit and improved spin atack which both hit hard), and 4/0/0/4 doctor(for good heals and buffs). When i see the bh i plan on taking ranged def food, and i wil already have pikata pie(52% chance of miss) and brandy.
What is your combat level with this template (Master Doc/MRifles)? 80 or less as MDoc is not a combat prof?
Sounds like a winner if you get CL80 out of this...
um. You need to remember that to get FS xp you have to kill stuff with your lightsaber ![]()
It depends quite a bit on whether you're going to solo grind or do it in a group:
GROUP: who cares what your template is. You're going to pull stuff by whacking it once with your saber, unequipping saber and running back to the group (see jedi forums for visibility discussions) and letting them kill it You don't want to shoot the mob, whack the mob with your bare fists or heal anyone cuz all that leeches xp from your jedi xp. So your skills dont really matter here.
SOLO: first generation LS + CL80 critter = 10k xp per day if you're luck. Huge ham bars and CL80 regen rates vs. your 120 damage a whack? good luck. This means you need to drop your CL down to mobs you can kill untill you get some padawan skills. Iuse a combination of TKM + combat medic (for the dots and state debuffs -thyroid rupture-). The combat medic dots each hit for about 2x what your measly little first generation Bic Lighter is going to hit for and they don't steal from your jedi xp, and CoB is your friend (you cant use with saber equipped, but you get pretty efficient at unequippign saber/cob/reequippins saber ever 30s).
just my 2 credits.
EDIT: there are several very good n00b padawan guides in the Jedi forums with lots of advice about soloing. Start there.
