Thread: Does anyone...?

Does anyone read the stickies anymore? Everyday I see dozens of posts about topics that can be answered in the stickies. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. If its something not in the stickies, then it should be posted.
/agree
sometimes i get tired of seeing all the "what phase are we in" and "I became FS, now what" kinda questions, but I take it in stride and skip over all of them ![]()

You guys are pretty funny. I would expect different from vets.
Being a vet makes you mature? I wasn't aware of that.

Not necessarily. But vets arent supposed to act like noobs and not make noob responses
I'd assume a vet would be willing to help a new player rather than yell at them (not saying that you do) but there are many that yell at these new players for asking a question. Sure the stickies are there but that doesn't mean that a newly registered player has any idea what they are or how useful they can be. I didn't know about them until I asked my first few "noob" questions and someone posted a link that I could put in my browser and find myself. Then I realized that all that information was together in one great location
I agree that people put alot of work into the information that is stickied but just because it's there hidden behind a clickable link doesn't mean people automatically know it's there. The only way they learn is to ask questions and to have people answer those questions in a manner that is constructive and will help them find the answers they need.
It doesn't take much to tell them to look at the information at the top of the forum, in fact itprobably easier than getting upset and frustrated with someone who has yet to learn the best way to use this forum.

I agree. But when there are posts at the top of the forum that says "read me first" or "everything you need to know." Its a bit obvious that thats where to go first. and it would be a better experience for noobs if they just found out some things on their own instead of starting a thread and waiting for someone to tell them what to do. I dont have a problem with helping anyone who needs it. It would be nice not having to answer the same question over and over. Thats all im saying

Having a sense of humor makes you immature and a noob? I wasn't aware of that...
You think that if someone didn't read the stickies they're going to read this thread and be pointed in the right direction?
Not only that, but you're not the first to tell people to read the stickies...with that in mind wouldn't your post be in line with the redundant unnecessary posts that have so upset you?
Lighten up, if anything my "immature" response was a commical response in support of your post.
