ok was wondering first whats a free unlock second how do you get them?

Free unlocks were a reward for those who were grinding Jedi under the old method of Holocrons and hidden professions. Before the village and padawan revamp, you needed to master "hidden" professions. Once all the hidden professions were mastered, you unlocked. To give partial credit for those who had done several professions, and hadn't unlock before the chage was implemented, the concept of "free unlocks" was implemented. If you didn't do the hologrind prior to the revamp, then you are ineligible for free unlocks.

Personally, I mastered 14 professions under the old system and got 3 free unlocks. If you want to read more about it andthe statistics ofhow it worked read this:
