Just telling my FS brothers and sisters did the melee quest today 3 times and on the 3rd time 1 hr before server down finished it and got the 2 pretty crystals.

I may also add to this I died a total of 72 times today (thank Devs for Ranger camp healing) 15 times to level 95 enraged rancors, 5 times to alpha bolma males, 35 times to sith base turrets, 9 times to a mob of NS slaves and gaping spiders and 8 times to sith thugs and pirates.

average dmg on me from the higher level critters and NPcs 22k, oh yeah did I tell you my CL rating is level 20 novice ranger /novice rifles.

1st time trying had Sith commander 1300m from village and pirate killed me

2nd time trying the guy poisoned himself and died after walking 3k with him across dantooine (village was 10k away)

3rd time had a guild mate and a imperial guy that had to do it to (see we can work together as imp and reb) , with a base 2k away and using CH skills we pulled a rabbit out of the hat.

the quest is possible in CU eventhough I thought it wasn't and was really good ingame content for me today when I thought about it (escorting the sith commander in).

1 down 5 to go, whew

Oh I may add that CH was very important and key to getting this quest done as my cat took out all three turrets and the front gate, without being aggroed CL on cat was 10 ungrouped.

Don't give up hope!!

This was your first completed quest? If so, consider yourself fortunate that you got the hardest one, IMO, out of the way. Phase IV is going to be interesting with the CU, but I'm remaining optimistic.

Congrats!

I may add that you have about 70 times more patience than me.

IMHO, while the capture-the-commander quest was hard, my money is on the Phase 4 combat missions as the toughest of the FS quests. If you play smart by doing things like outflanking the turrets and having teammates pull the Sith Shadows away from the base entrances rather than trying to wipe them all out via brute force, the capture quest is a blast. By contrast, the Phase 4 quests are 30-45 minutes of back-to-the-walls mass insanity!

I already have six unlocks (and am rapidly filling them now that I'm getting the hang of this accursed level-based funnel), but I would really like to get Melee Defense. So, I'll see y'all there on the Aurilian Killing Fields....
