Thread: Anyone tried dual account nade grinding?

Greetings,

I recently started the FS grind. At first, I tried soloing Fambaas. Wasn't a problem as such, but my calculations showed that this method would take 764 hours for all branches if starting from scratch. For me, that would be a little less since I have 2 boxes in 1 branch. Still, that's pretty insane just for getting to the point of being able to wield a glowing stick and have all the nunas laugh at your feeble noob skills with that glowing stick. So I went to Dant and did Bols in an XP group. After 3 hours I did the math and came to 250 hours of group grinding. Okay, the group wasn't the most efficient since it was close to server downtime and people started dropping fast. Maybe half the time if in a good group. Dunno - you tell me.

My problem is this. I -need- to have the ability to go afk every now and then due to RL reasons and it's not always that I can sit down and play for many hours in one stretch. So I started thinking and came up with an idea to basically solo more efficiently. Basically, run 2 accounts. My machine can easily pull this one off and I do it every now and then with my crafter account. Grind the 2nd account character up to level 80. This shouldn't take long at all. Have the other character pull a single mob. Nade the mob with my FS main when only that one mob is withing the nade radius and do nothing else. Finish off mob with alt. Get 6K combat XP on main. If I'm not mistaking, this should be 5 times more efficient than normal soloing. Since I have to switch back'n'forth and such, let's say 4 times as efficient. That's about 191 hours. Probably not as good as a dedicated group of 8 lvl 80 characters, but still much much better than soloing and doesn't require finding such a group and setting aside several hours of non-interrupted play.

So, has anyone done something like this? Does it sounds totally crazy... other than being a bit antisocial and all that lol?

why not bring your alt with a group and just not group him. . . let the 1st toon toss a nade and the 2nd one actually help the group

Hmmm... that's actually a very good idea. Best of both worlds. Thanks

because without someone pulling only one creature the nade thrower dies pretty quik, the 2 account technique works really well for semi solo grinding.

So in a group situation, it would probably be the best if I'm the one doing the pulling with my combat alt just to keep everything under control. That's fine, since I'm quite used to being the one doing all the pulling anyway. What's the absolutely lowest radius one can get on a C12? Funny how having a LOW stat suddenly becomes desirable!

That's not a half bad idea, the part about doing the grind solo with an alt. Here's my quick take on it. Group you and your alt. Your FS lobs grenade on lair, aggro's the whole lot, incaps (who cares if just once) then sits out. Your alt, who would have to be high cl then pulls and finishes off the herd. Tap the lair, wait a while for a whole bunch to respawn and repeat. You might even be able to get a higher mob count per lair if you each group a pet.

As for nading in a group, that's always tricky unless you have a group that respects and understands what you're doing. Your FS would have to be grouped, while your alt is not. As long as your alt doesn't do more than average damage, the group would still get all the xp and they wouldn't technically be down a player while your FS sits out. With the 2-person vehicles it wouldn't be hard keeping up with a group. My only concern is the lag. Right now on Dantooine Intrepid the lag is near game-breaking. Hopefully this publish from today will fix this, but i can still imagine it causing problems. Would have to test and see.

Good job.
