Thread: Question about armor after getting padawan

Just wondering the specifics of wearing (or not wearing) armor as a padawan. I just wanted to unlock my 2nd toon and go back to being a regular player able to wear armor. Is it possible in any way shape or form?

Wearing Armor prevents the use of LS specials and Force moves. But in no way does being a Padawan actually prevent you from wearing armor though.

Thnx alot for that info. You said special moves can't be used, does that include Jedi Healing techniques? And does that include innate abilities like those gotten from the Defense discipline?

Far as I can tell, Armor will cancel out anything Jedi related, and like Inate TK Armor, Jedi Inate Armor is disabled while you where real armor.

It will probably be worth it to invest in the Jedi force armor...it will be better in the long run, instead of anything a craftman can make (for a reasonable price without paying 30 mil for a suit)

Now here's a question. Since TK's can only have Innate Armor, what happens when you make padawan and you're still a TKM? I doubt that TK innate armor cancels out jedi innate armor, but how does it differentiate the two? If I'm unarmed, then I'm automatically using TK innate armor, or would I be using jedi innate armor all the time? Considering that you don't start out with the top percentage of jedi innate armor at padawan, so I assume that at first TK innate armor is better, I would like to know if I'm more protected while unarmed.

So as a new padawan the TKM TIA will be active. A TKM/MasterDefender will us JIA.

Ok, that makes sense. Now, if I'm using my saber as a padawan, and as you say, TKIA will have the highest value, that essentially means that I would have the full benefit of having full TKIA, therefore giving mebetter protection than a padawan that is not TKM, right? Sounds like TKM is probably one of the better professions to start with as a padawan, being a melee profession, and better Innate Armor, at least in the beginning (not counting Power Boost and meditate).

there was a thread in jedi forum yesterday that stated the when you equip a LS, the TK armor doesn't work

yup they do NOT overlap jedi uses jedi armor so im assuming if u use a ls u r using ur jedi armor and unarmed or tk stuff or guns tk armor

Ah, ok. This all makes alot of sense now. Thanks to everyone who answered. I still think that TKM is somewhat of an advantage as a padawan, if only for Power Boost, meditate and the melee skills. And as a future dancing jedi, I'll need an advantage, lol.
