Hi all,

Not sure what you think of idea or not?

Why was The FS Village used in SWG rather than real Starwars Jedi trainers in the films?

I think they could have designedit so we still went to a secret place with the FS mist etc like the village has (after getting glowy by badges etc)but rather than have Paemos, Whip, Noldan and the others to train us (that wasn't even in any of the films). InsteadI think they shoud have used the real characters from the Starwars films, like Windu, Yoda, Obi-Wan (Ben Konobi), Luke, to train up and comingReble Jedi, and another secret place could have been designed for training of Imperial Jedi, by the Emperor, Darth Vader!

I just think it would have madeit more appealing to Starwars fans to have real characters from the films in the game rather than characters that didn't exist

If I remember right in the time line...

Yoda= Dead

Obi-Wan= Dead

Windu= Dead

So that would leave Luke...and he is no Jedi master at this point. Heck he never was a padawan.

Guess a bunch of glowie ghosts could be teaching us.

I forget if SWG is placed between ANH and ESB or between ESB and RotJ, but in either case...

Obi-Wan is dead.
Yoda is alive, in kicking, and hiding from the entire galaxy save one person.
Mace Windu is 20 years dead and never known for being a teacher anyway.

In the EU, there are a couple other jedi and fallen jedi in hiding throughout the galaxy, plus force users like the Emperor's major-domo and the Hands, but none of them would be particular likely to train anyone for any reason, much less to be jedi.

This game takes place between episodes 4 and 5. so:

Yoda= Alive

Kenobi=dead

Windu=dead

Luke= not even a jedi yet.

SWG takes place in the time immediately after the Battle of Yavin...Episode IV, A New Hope. If you've done the Rebel Theme Park, you'd know that. It says that Princess Leia is on Corellia (Hiddin Rebel Base), planning the Alliance's next course of action after their recent victory at the Battle of Yavin. So there ya have it. SWG takes place in the time right after the Battle of Yavin.

Given this peice of information, you'd have to think about what was going on in the movies after this. Yes, Yoda could be a trainer of jedi. Luke Skywalker had just got done blowing up the huge basketball of doom and was still on Yavin IV.But there'd have to be a Degobah System.No starports, no civilization, so no real way to shuttle there, or even land there given the terrain noted inEpisode V. The only jedi that existed during this time, strictly according to the movies, was Yoda, Darth Vader, and the Emperor. Luke wasn't even a true jedi yet. So, there's no way to have a "true" jedi trainer that was actually a jedi in the movies.

Tnerb6969, Thanks!

Ya I have never done the reb theme park....Imp for life. But good to know where we stand in the time line. For some reason I thought that we were after ESB but before Han was delivered to Jabbas.Hmmm ya so that would make Yoda alive...Ok I am a noob..Must get more coffee..

So at this point the village is about the best we get..Hmmm wonder if the old man will be visiting Luke and sending him to the village as well. Wonder how much exp the death star was worth? I wonder where I put that coffee..

The Death Star would only be available as a mission for "Master Pilots" and would be worth upwards of 10,000 Space Combat XP. Which would be useless to a Master Pilot, so it would end up being a pile of Prestige Points, but might include a nifty badge for people to gape in wonder at.

Oh, and you coffee? It was in the last room you were in when you had it last... (Yeah, cryptic but right.) The coffee will be in the last place you look. (Again, very right.)

If you remember correctly when Jedi died in film like Ben Konobi and Yoda they didnt actually die, a Jedi never dies. They go to a another world which is controlled by the Force. And they did come back as like ghosts/shadows from that place.

actually, no. When jedi die, they die like you and me. (remeber qui-gon didn't "disapeer". They became "one with the force". However qui-gon had learned to commune from the force, and he tought yoda, and yoda taught obi-wan. (end of ROTS, more detail about it in the book...) Obi-wan communed with luke this way after his death. Obi-Wan, Yoda, Qui-Gon, and Anikan (guessing he only knows how because he was such a strong jedi, none of the others formally taught him) learned how to commune through the force.

What your talking about is the blue glowy jedi, which is true when it comes to the jedi you mentioned specifically, but not true of all jedi.

assuming you saw episode 3, Yoda mentions at the end that Qui Gon Gin discovered the path to immortality, and that Yoda was going to teach Obi Wan how to communicate with him. Since many of the jedi were already dead at this point, we can only assume that most of themnever learned this skill. I'm sure all the star wars geeks out there know more than me, so feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.
