Thread: Ok, grinding has to go

Silly noob wants a glowstick. Wants FS to be easier than it already is.. grind out 15 professions then whine about FS, Not before
Noob? his forum account was registered a year before yours was... and what he is saying is true. I agree there needs to be something keepingnewbs from becoming Jedi right away, but how it is currently set up is very lacking... Yeah, I know I registerd mine late too, but I have been here from the start and have grinded outevery combat profession along with several non combat ones. Just because someone sees a lack of content doesnt mean they are noobs just wanting free glowsticks.

I am sure I am not the first to post this topic, and definitely wont be the last. The unlock quests, and the village, even the stupid 3 week between phases rule are tolerable. Having to grind millions of xp on the same old boring Bol/Piket missions is just downright stupid.
How is this supposed to:
A- Keep people interested in SWG.
B- Attract new players.
I know not everyone grinds, and not everyone wants a Jedi character. But the 98% that do, have to achieve it with this excruciating process.
There HAS TO be a better way. I really dont know what could be done, but the unlocks should have some kind of trials to do after the unlock, and not something as lame as "goto point A and kill 25 Snorbals". Cmon, SOE, dont you have better imagination then that?

Have you not been playing the game? They are....

Well ofcourse they have better imagination than that ! But if they did it any other way ( to use your statistics, which I don't necessarily disagree with) 98% of the Characters in the game would BE Jedi ! Where would the content be then? They do it this way to keep the Jedi population down. The Nerfs that they do on the Jedi and Bounty Hunters ( and others too...) are for the same reason, among others. And because the Jedi, Bounty Hunters and all the others gripe about EVERYTHING the other has. If people would just stop the griping all they way around and play the damn game, take the time to learn their characters, and not be so jealous of each other ( " OMG, so-and-so is better than me, I should be able to one-shot kill them, so I'm deprived !! Whine whine.) They might let the game go for a month without another stupid nerf.
But... never happen.

Whiners!! Everyone is whining!
* The noobs are now whining that it is tooooo haaard!
* The vetshave beensaying there are toooooo mannnny.
* The Jedi are saying that now it's tooooo eaaaaasy!
Only now have I begun tounderstand... whine all you want. Cry all you want. No wonderthe dev's mostlyignore us.
No I'm not a noob. No I'm not a Jedi (yet). No I don't want to hear your silly whining. No I don't think my whining does any good either.
Go play Otse, try to enjoy the game before dedicating your time to grinding Jedi. ![]()
Whiner:
- To utter a plaintive, high-pitched, protracted sound, as in pain, fear, supplication, or complaint.
- To complain or protest in a childish fashion.
-no quote from the movie here, some words about patience and young one are all that needed to be implied-

you could try mixing it up . . like pikets one day, dewbacks another, tuskans another, ect etc etc.
No one said we had to grind . . .no one said we must be jedi . . . there is a price we must pay for the goal that we wish . . . pay the price.

You seem to be missing something important. That being the fact you are responsible for the grind. Not SOE.
Yes, FS/Jedi skill boxes require a great deal of XP. But there is no rule on how you gain this XP. If you find hunting bols/pikets to be boring... then do something else. How you gain the XP is entirely up to you.

QFE
There are other planets and you can get the xp without mindless grinding. Granted, this would be a lot more feasible if every mob would give some level of reasonable xp but it's still doable. Around 3 of my 6 FS trees were filled just by playing the game, and for a casual player like myself I think that's pretty good.
Nobody needs to tell me to "enjoy" the game. I have done at least 90% of all the content in this game, and took my sweet time getting there. The point is this grind system is BORING and REPETITIVE.
The Fanboys can type "/cry" all they want, but the fact remains.
