i hav a little question about the next phase

i have done this phase before and got rangedspeed but i need melee defense

to complete the whole jedi thing can i get Melee defense in the next phase?

melee defense is a phase 4 unlock, ranged defense is a phase 3 unlock,so if melee defense is what you need then you can get it next phase.

You can definately unlock that branch even though you have done the other. Trust me, I did it too
