Ok here is my deal, im going for jedi. keep that in mind im not just being a FS person.

my desired 6 trees are

P1-Survival and Persuasion

p2- vehicle (possible alternate melee speed)

p3-luck and experimentation

p4-Repair

We are in phase 2 and i have 2 free unlocks

So here are my questions

1) are these 6 trees ok. I asked before and many said it doesnt matter if you take the combat trees, in the long run your 6 FS trees dont amount to much so just take what you want.

I know repair doesnt work, im hoping they make it work so im taking it for when the time comes

I heard survial works even if you dont have scout....but then someone told me i was wrong. So which is it?

Is experimentation worth taking simply for light saber crafting?

Assuming i take the aformentioned spend above( survial persuasion vehicle luck exp repair

With my 2 free unlocks in mind, how exactley do i want to go about doing this, IE what order, and when and how should i use my unlocks? I heard using unlocks is a carefully timed thing or you waste them so hwo should i do it?

Thanks for your time

Dont you guys remember in Return of the Jedi when Yoda said to luke
"luke, you must kill 1000 ewoks to become l33t !"
or
"Luke, the force is only to be use for knowledge and defense, never for attack, unless your slaughtering defensless ewoks for force crystals"

For Survival, only placing camps and terrain negotiation will work if you are a non-scout, the rest you have to have scout for.

so then i guess id go

p1 persuasion

p2

vehicle melee speed

p3-luck-exp

thanks alot of that knowledge, i had been hearing mixed data on it.

My main concern though is what order i should do these and how exactley to use my two free unlocks to make the grind easier and faster.

Thanks again all.

why?

Ive heard from multiple people that the mods you get from those arent so huge that it really matters in the long run.

Also i have a new question, i read the description of the experimentation tree. Does it give you more Boxes to play with, or simply up your success for getting amazing crafted sabers?

No i havent, i was careful not too.

Right now its phase two, and i just started doing the vehicle quest for whip, seeing as phase 2 is almost over, and i know regardless of how i alter my spend vehicle will be in thier.

The unlock thing is a mystery to me, and i dont want to waste them.

Also to note i have enough force reflex XP to buy the novice box, but wasnt sure where to do that, or ifi could do it before i unlock the vehicle tree.

He can use how ever many free unlocks that he desires to use and there is no time restrictions on them. Hypothetically, if you had six unlocks, you could use all six of them tonight if you wanted to.

Just make sure to double check the phases and the FS skills that your going for, so that you dont end up increasing your time by making a bad decision since many of these skills will overlap and underlap each other.

Well I'd recommend, Melee Defense, Ranged Defense, Melee Speed, and Melee Accuracy, for starters. Repair would be useless for a Jedi since sabers don't decay, and you can't fix broken crystals.

Expermentation might be a little useful, but at the moment expermenting on sabers makes little differnce. (that may change in the distant future.) Same stroy for Assembly. Crafting Technique is useless since Crit Fails were removed and healing is useless since the mods on it don't apply to the new Post-CU healing.

Luck only increases the credits you loot from NPC's (if it actually does that) Persuasion only lowers the amount NPC trainers charge you. (useless since Jedi Trainers charge nothing)

Survival Line would give you the ability to use basic camp sites, but you still won't be able to harvest or /mask without scout itself. Vehicle control can be helpful in making your bike more manuaverable, and have it reach top speed a little faster. Not overly useful, but most FS skills aren't.

If you get the entire surveying line you can survey with Novice Artisan, but you'll have an alt you can use for that if you do make Jedi. Rumors suggest Ranged Speed and Accuracy effect Force Powers, but I don't think they really do. (I'll experment a little later on that)

I'd recommend you use your free unlocks on any Crafting or Sense brnaches you might want, then grind out four Combat/Reflex branches the old fashion way. You can use your Unlocks at any time, and using them will give you the full line, and doing this won't take up your quest for the phase. You're aslo not limited to selecting ones only currently avilable this phase for free unlocks. Hope this helps.

so they do grant you the entire tree....sweet.

Sense shouldnt be to hard since im a MCM, i get med XP out the wazoo

on one of the walk throughs it sais persuasion not only reduces cost buy also helps you with imperial scans, and also makes it so if attacked faction NPCs will aid you. Now i definatley saw a BH jump a jedi and a random rebel guard starting shooting the BH. I dont know if it was a faction thing but i figured thats what it did.

Can anyone verify this.

I also though luck made you get more loot drops, and made the quality of loot drops better as well.

Can anyone verify this?

Good to know on crafting technique. Does assembly give you Exp points as well?

And would the better saber i get from the two crafting trees be worth forgoing some of the combat trees?

Still very unsure of what im doing, ill await word on comments on luck and persuasion.

FS skills are mainly there just to make the grind take longer for upcoming Jediand to help supplement non-Jedi characters, and thats basically it. Some of them offer up decent abilities but in the end, none of them are really detrimental to your Jedi when he is full template. So they will not "make" or "break" your character no matter which ones you choose. Go with the ones that will take you the least amount of phases and get it over with.

If your still not happy later on, you can always unlock your remaining FS branches and grind them out too, so long as you always keep six branches maxed at one time.

I think Persuasion is suppose to help you avoid scans, but scans are so random in terms of succeding or not, it's impossible to tell if there's a differnce. More than likely that BH was Imp Combtant at the time when he attacked that Jedi.

No, just credits. Some people have claimed they've got much better stuff since getting luck, others claimed they seem to get nothing at all. Luck really is just luck, I doubt the skill mod with the same name really helps it.

Crafting TEchn gives you nothing, it's suppose to reduce crit fails, but those were removed Pre-Cu. Assembly gives you a better shot at a Amazing Succes when asembly an itme, meaning it's base unexpermented stats will be SLIGHTLY higher. Expermentation will not give you more expermentation points, but makes amazing succes more common. Giving you more per point.

And would the better saber i get from the two crafting trees be worth forgoing some of the combat trees?

If you're going to get two Crafting lines, get Expermentation and Assembly. Reapir and Technique don't work.

Luck and Persuaion seem mostly useless from everything I've read.

Yes, you can open novice boxes at any time, it's just the branches themselves that you have to have unlocks for. Just talk to Noldan and train in Novice Reflexes. I'm not pre-publish 9, so I'm not sure how you use the free unlocks, unfortunately. Melee Accuracy, Melee Speed, Melee Defense and Ranged Defense are, from what I understand, the only FS skills that really benefit a jedi, and even those aren't all that much of a benefit. If you go MLS, you won't even need melee speed, as you're speed is so high at MLS that it doesn't add anything really (number wise it does, but you'll still be hitting so and so for so much damage every second either way). Everything else is just fluff really, meant to enhance your normal professions. FS does not equal jedi. Personally, I'm going with the above mentioned 4 along with Survival (placing camps is good since I'm a dancer and terrain negotiation kinda helps for running at a critical moment) and Vehicle Control (again, for possibly escaping a bad situation faster). I haven't decided what template I'm doing yet, but if I go MLS, I'll probably drop melee speed for something else.
