Ive pretty much had all my questions answered about the FS trees, the last thing i wanted to look into was luck.

Ive really considered taking it, since getting good pearls and good crystals is essential to being a jedi, along with skill tapes and such.

The only thing is, some people say it doesnt do anything, and some people say its awesome.

Im just wondering if thier is anyone who has it, who can definatley say one way or the other whether or not its good or bad.

Thanks for your time

Ill wait to see whateveryone has to say

Dont you guys remember in Return of the Jedi when Yoda said to luke
"luke, you must kill 1000 ewoks to become l33t !"
or
"Luke, the force is only to be use for knowledge and defense, never for attack, unless your slaughtering defensless ewoks for force crystals"

I think the Luck tree is like slicing and other 'random' stuff in SWG. Some people say you can do certain things to influence slicing (such as using 'high quality' tools), but I haven't seen anything lucky about the luck line. But if you compare it to the other options, its no better than getting say ranged accuracy or vehicular control for a Jedi.... The 'essential' skills for a Jedi are ranged/melee defense, melee speed/accuracy, survival (for terrain negotiation), that leaves one line open, so take your pick. Vehicular control, luck or maybe one of the crafting lines for 'amazing' success while crafting a saber (which never happens anyway)...

Ive been on a crusade to find the best 6 lines, and its funny how differed everyones opinions are.

The one thing you seem to agree on that everyone else agrees on is that luck doesnt do anything. That seems to be the unanimous decision, so as much as id like it to work, im not gonna waste my time with it.

Ive also heard many people tell me that the defense trees dont do anything, and that its a waste to have them because they dont seem to effect anything at all. But when i say that to other people, they say its wrong...so i never know who to beleive.

So im trying to stick with getting what everyone seems to agree on.

So far everyone has agreed that assembly and experimentation are worth it, but just that most people dont wanna do the crafting grind to get them. And i am on starsider and i am a Roleplayer, and i want to RP being a jedi artisan type character.

Melee speed and melee accuracy seem to be big winners as well. So thats 4 down.

I definatley want something "fun" that is also useful, so im gonna grab vehicular control because ima big fan of easy traveling, even if only a small mount. And i hate over shooting my mark, especially when im running missions, so slowing down better is cool by me.

Thats 5 down.

Now im surprised you said get survival. Everyone seems to think for jedi this is worthless, because terrain neg +5 isnt that big of a deal to spend a whole tree on.

My 6th tree is more then likely going to be ranged accuracy to add accuracy to my force powers, as most people seem to agree on this as well.

And then again, one of the biggest things everyone seems to agree on is that it doesnt really matter what your 6 trees are as in the over all scheme of things they dont really effect you to much.

In fact most people think you should get whatever 6 trees become available to you first, to get to jedi sooner.

So i guess ill more then likely skip luck, and pick up ranged accuracy.

Luck does work.Just don't expect it to be some uber, "OMG, I looted a +25 attachment from a meatlump!!!" kind of thing. Because it's not.

With +4 in Luck you can expect to loot maybe 10% more credits from npcs than before.(That's just a guesstimate from my own experience, I don't know the real value.)

And you can expect to have a slightly higher (and I emphasize the slight) chance of looting whatever is in the loot table for what you are killing. So if you are killing normal faction npcs, for example, you will have a better chance of looting cdef blasters and broken datapads. Like I said, it's not an uber skill tree to have.
