I know theres has been a thousand of these posts but i dont care.

*Yet another idea to replace the FS grind*

1. Destroy FS alltogether. (or leave it and let people still get FS if they want it)

2. New system could still make use of the village or not but the core of it could be so much better.

Unlocking FS could instead unlock basic force abilities scaled down from the real jedi abilities.

Your force sensitivity box could then grant basic Saber - Healing - Enhance - Defense - Powers abilities.

The quest done within the system should go something like.

1 quest to get a training saber.

2 quest to unlock novice sabers

3 quest to unlock novice enhancer

3 quest to unlock novice defender

4 quest to unlock novice healer

5 quest to unlock novice powers

6 quest to prove your worth to take the trials.

After doing each quest you use you new lesser jedi abilities mention before to train in the novice box you unlocked.

since the abilities granted by the FS box are lesser jedi abilities they yield lower xp amounts so grinding a novice box will take awhile to do for a casual gamer.

You may not unlock another novice box untill youve trained the last one you unlocked.

(may also have a minimum wait between unlocks)

This system would allow people to start learning jedi right away instead of mindlessly grinding for FS boxes that wont be needed very long.

Another thought that popped into my mind was to make a planet that only FS chars can go to and train with no visability issues. (degobah or however its spelled maybe) Only intrainingFS(not padawans or knights) may go there so full fledged jedi cannot hide there and grind for xp without vis.

Once your done with this system and completed the padawan trials you would officialy have all the novice boxes trained and be sent out into the real world again to hone your skills the old fashioned way.

Its a rough idea but i think it would have a better feel than the current system and would satisfy those who want jedi by giving it a little at a time.

If all this is garbage then id like to haveit added that the old man can visit you in space. just imagine flying in your dunelizard, tie fighter, or x wing and having a old man in a space suit smack into your window yelling something about we need to talk!!!!

You shouldnt get Jedi abilities if you arent jedi.. it would all be coolkids sorry. Novice healer for non full temp jedi would be completely unbalancing.

thats a silly answer.

how many non full template jedi have novice healer.........................................Im guessing over 75% plus any char that has any doc line or even decent medic lines can outheal novice healer

But i guess doing a village for x amount of weeks to take skills that are utterly useless after becoming a full template jedi other than to take 24 sp away is a much better idea.

So luke was a full template jedi when he learned to use the force and sabers. must be what your trying to say.

Plus you could do the quests and complete the xp requirements but you would not be able to run around being a cool kid you either complete the training or you dont no halfsies. Quest for the proof of being ready for the trials could grant the true novice boxes. And keep all the wanna be jedi locked on this planet untill they are done or strip there powers while not on that planet.

But i regress the village is perfect its so super!! it makes perfect sense and fits so well with how jedi should learn and progress /end sarcasm

The FS skills aren't useless. Gosh, take a look at the defensive and offensive bonuses you get for the combat skills. If you're a doctor you get healingbonuses, or if you're a crafter you get crafting bonuses.I have the vehicle line and it makes my V-35 (the 7 passenger vehicle) turn sharper, and go a little faster. The only line that everyone is unsure if it does anything is the luck line. It's supposed to help you get better loot drops but from what people say is that they can't tell the difference. This game doesn't need a jedi lite profession. You can either grind it out and unlock, or don't. It's way too easy to become a jedi since the CU anyways. The devs actually need toincrease the amount of exp needed at each tier of the FS boxes. Back before CU if you were in a group and were hunting you only got exp points based on how much damage you did to whatever you were fighting. Since CU went in all you have to do is land 1 hit and when the target is defeated you get maximum exp.

There should be no jedi lite profession and in actuality the devs need to make it harder to become a jedi. Before CU I have 2 boxes towards getting jedi. After CU, I have 5 branches filled, and enough exp to fill the 6th branch andI'm just waiting on phase 3 to start so I can unlock my last branch and train it. That's 18 boxes in about 21/2 months. Before it was 2 boxes in just about a year. Seeing as how long it was taking me before, and I haven't changed my playstyle, it was harder to get jedi pre-CU. Now it's really easy.

You will get a saber eventually.. would it make you really happy to get one now and spoil that feeling when you first craft one?

aparently the point for both of you is about 200m over your heads but thanks for nothing anyways.

and by the way it wasnt about a jedi lite proffesion it was about becoming a jedi by actualy training as one not farming xp in the dumbest way possible to become a jedi.........hmm i guess real content and thought doesnt fit in with your SWG.

And i know its easy right now its also pointless so i dont need clarification on the matter. I dont want it easier i want it more thoughtfull and to actualy make sense. The system right now is just a bad roadblock in the path to jedi.

Grind on bols for 3 months to train al FS and then grind on bols for another 3 months to get full temp jedi!!!! you guys really support a intelligent system.

What is it are people afraid to support something that takes thought to complete. Cant do it if its not group and click or AFK grind FTW? I wouldrather see real work involved not mindless work.

The path down the road to jedi should have never involved group grinding the mass slaughter of creatures. Its a path of solitude, dedication, and patience. Not a l33t status to brag about to your friends over a bol lair with 7 other random people........

And how much more of a roadblock would it be if the path to jedi made the player do it alone with no help and couldnt contact the outside worldfor up to 4 months. Think that would deter enoughwannabes away from the force.

well i think this post has passed maximum length to be understood im out.

So far its 1 for real content 2 for easy grind

Wow, what a way to try and win people over....

I know it would be a shock to realize that this isn't 200m over people's heads, its just a bad idea.

Anakin: Master, I think my lightsaber is getting dull. Its not doing nearly as much damage as it used to.
Obi-Wan: O.k. when we're done showing the youglings around the temple, we'll stop by the bazaar and you can buy a new crystal. I hope you've got a couple million credits saved up for this.
Anakin: WHAT?!!?? I don't have THAT kind of cash!
Obi-Wan: Well you could try sharpening it on these younglings. I've got a headache and all their questions are driving me NUTS!
Anakin: hmmm.... Sharpen my lightsaber on younglings...... hmmmmmm.....
Obi-Wan: uh, that was a joke Anakin. I'll spot you the cash for a new crystal THIS time, but next time you're on your own.

lol ok..........got a better one then say it.

Sorry if i have to win people over by ignoring the fact that they fail to understand something then i guess i wont win them over.

I forgot where i was for a second after 7 1/2years of playing MMO's and posting in their forumsyoud think i would have learned. Nothing changes people remain the same.

As this game stands now its to easy and lacking any real content to reach the alpha class i have 80 days logged in SWG and allready have two cl80 charsroughly halfway through the village and a master artisan shipwright. Allmost mastered piloting twice. And people fall back on that you need to learn how to play the game before becoming jedi. I see it every time i come into the forums. Well i figured out about 80 percent of the game in 2 weeks.

Massive grinding and powerleveling to the top in less than 6 months is not going to give this game any staying power.

PVP is not a huge draw. When people get sick of pvp if there isnt anything to fall back on its cya.

Dynamic Quest based systems are in higher demand than pvp systems.(dispute it if you like it wont change the fact)

Current FS/jedi system = easy/boring/AFK'able

Dynamic questing FS/jedi system that actually involves learning to be a jedi = interesting learning experience that one must be dedicated to finish. Not just do it for the uber rewards and never train anything. To do it for the love of the proffesion and the life.

(though the village is quest based its not dynamic or interesting at all)

Instead we go to a village run one quest every thee weeks and cheese the xp to get some fat rodian to give us FS xp. While people spam for others to kill them so they dont have to drive back to town. Oh and the l33t jedi who hang out there pvping normal chars to look cool. (i cant stand it everytime i hear the let me get my master defender then well see how tough you are jedi noob)

The whole experience would be different if it was a whole private area tailored to the player learning the ways of the force. Not some mass glowstick weilding factory on dath. Instanced areas could be done for people to do specific force related training.

Not afk grind fighting/ent skills to trade over for a box of FS.

People shoot down ideas all day around here and flame everything but then all you hear is this bites that bites change this blah blah blah. Make up your minds people.

For one I did the entire village grind Pre CU. It is easier than all he!!. Im ruinning an alt account through it again and have gotten a whole lot farther than I did before faster. The village is a OPTION you have, You do not have to take part in it. If it is too long and boring for you then stop doing it. You knew how it was before you even started it. If all you ever do is log in, grind, grind, grind exchange exp, rinse/repeat, then you have not PLAYED the game. 80 days logged in is not time to say you have seen all this game has to offer. If the grind is all you want to do then fine. If it is all you want to do then you will be bored. If you want the system changed, sorry its not going to happen.

I do like your idea of change though but not for the FS part but I think it should be for the padawan trials. Then your ideas would make alot more sense. The trials can be completed in a day if you wanted. Pre CU, I did mine 8 a day over 2 days because I started them late one night. If your idea was made for the padawan trials I think it would be more fitting. Not given novice boxes per quest, but given a small amount of jedi exp from each quest completed (16 quests total). These would equal out to enough exp for ONE jedi novice box of your choosing to get you started. This way YOU have the choice of your starting direction.
