I was curious... I see a lot of people fussin that village takes too long... or is not long enough. I for one... wouldn't mind how long the village took... IF the quests actually lasted longer than a day or two. I mean... can we not come up with some better quests that actually last a lil longer a day or two? I would like to see some time actually put into developing real quests... now I haven't honestly put a lot of time into exactly what that would be, but i for one would much rather have a long quest that took almost the complete 3 weeks phase to complete for an average gamer.... by average I mean one that can play for about either couple hours a day for a couple days a week or a little more than that. now I know some people will argue against this... for example those of you that can only play 1 day a week, but perhaps they can make the quest continue past the phase shifting but still only allow one per phase OR they can allow the quest to be continued the next time that phase rolls through. I am just tired of the village shifting.... questing for one to three days... then waiting 2.5 weeks for the next phase. I get bored waiting, and I know too many people would cry if the process was shortened so I would rather see something like this go through.

Now while we are on this village/quest rant...

I would love to see the Force sensitive quests... actually have something to do with the force... wouldn't that be a grand idea?I mean... we are in a force village helping force people... why can't the quest involve some kind of training about the force? I mean seriously... yeah i understand we are helping a village that was just attacked buy a Sith gang... to explore the nobility of the jedi and such i would imagine. But would it be soo much to ask to tie the two together? could we not have some quest that maybe involve some kind of educational value about how to properly use the force skills we will attain later in our studies? or maybe some quests that at some point involve gaining some piece of knowledge or some kind of history of the jedi. Rather than, here fly to endor.. get this crate... now come back to village.. and repeat this 6 times! Oh My congrats!! you got a force skill!!! sickening really.... you know.. even though I hate to admit it.. I would actually support a longer grind to jedi if the quests actually had some kind of relation to the force and the path of jedi AND lasted more than a day or two.

Now for skills... umm... here is where i am really disappointed... you have what 4 disciplines in FS with 16 skill trees. Most of which do absolutely frickin NOTHING. can we get some useful skills? or better yet.... just remove the skill boxes and let us use points in a jedi template? If you make the quest actually meaningful... and worthwhile.. and in depth, then the whole grinding xp to convert (which is a lame system yet again if you ask me) would or could be replaced. I mean... really the grinding part and converting to FS isn't that hard to begin with. It is easy enough that tons are doing it... and with the double xp times here lately... most have the xp saved anyways. but I say again.. how does this tie into any kind of force training/development. it just does seem to fit in my opinion. make quests that have a more realistic feel to it and let the completion of the quests either grant you the tree AND the XP needed or simply remove the trees and make it a long series of force related quests.

Anyhow.. thee are just my opinions and some of the things that have been bothering me. Hopefully some day we can see a system better designed than the last two designs have been. we can only pray i say!! Good luck to you all!!

in regard to the village quests not being long . . . ala the complete it in a day or two . . . you have to remember that the path forFS needs to be equally completable by the casual player as well as the power gamer. Because there is a limited time to complete each phase . . . approx 3 weeks . . . if the quests required several . . . lets say 7 "real days" then a casual player who can only spend say 5 hours a week . . . won't be able to complete them.

Theanswer you may think is . . . . jedi isn't meant for casual players . . . but thats sooo untrue. Plus you also have remember that the village is not just a jedi pre-req. It is an oppertunity for non-jedi to enhance their templates.

As far as the skill branches not being useful . . . yes there are bugs and there are skill mods which need to be changed after CU (as well as prizes) but some people would love the extra 12 ranged defense or the scout skills. One man's garbage is another man's treasure and just because you don't feel them worthwhile . . . doesn't mean they aren't.

From your post, I can only assume you are going the jedi route which may be clouding your judgement in reagrd to the nature of FS. FS is more than just a step to Jedi . . . it is of itself a profession which grants players a variety of ways to supplement their game play and or playstyle.

Nice idea, but to be pragmatic, not very practical. For a quest to last almost 3 weeks, and be *interesting*, you're asking for something akin to an entire game! Keep in mind most players will go through an entire single-player game (Doom, Half-Life, Leisure Suit Larry, whatever) in about 20-40 hours of gameplay. That 20-40 hours of gameplay takes 2 years to develop. If there's16 branches, it means thequests will be complete around about the same time I retire.

Secondly, you need time to grind. The village phases and xp requirements are geared so that you can fill a branch in 3 weeks with 2-3 hours of grinding a day. If you spend all your time doing quests, there's no time to grind. Add about 18 weeks.

As for how useful the mods are? LOL... how many millions of credits would you expect to pay for CA's that grant +12 accuracy or +20 defence?
