Its late ..eer early. Still dont know what this is and dont feel like looking it up.
Anyone know what exactly it does?

I think I saw a post where some one was complaining about taking it because it was useless. A whooping 19 credits saved when training a basic profession.

my understanding was that persuasion 4 made you purple to both factions? can anybody verify? I didn't take persuasion so I can't check it.

Accordingly it allows you to get better prices from trainers. Which is a bit pointless for jedi's as with the number of people who are going to be jedi soon all you have to do is get one of them to teach you.

Well that and there's the fact that jedi training is free silly! It doesn't matter how many jedi there are training jedi skills has always been free. After all with all the work you put in to a level 4 box or master box it'd almost be an insult to ask me to pay to train.

Persuation does a few things. First, and most pointless, is cheaper training with NPCs. You can learn from players anyway, so no point here.
The more beneficial aspect is that no matter what you are both rebels and imperials will help you if you get attacked and they are nearby. It's as if you had 4000+ FP with rebel and imperial factions. One last bonus is on the imperial searches. they'll always say, "This one is clean, move along." I think that whole FS tree is worth it _just_ because of the searches. Man those are annoying.

If I knew Persuasion did all that, I would of invested in it. I didn't get it because I thought all it did was help lower the price of training.

You have any idea if it works for the minor factions in the game? Aa-kuan, CoreSec, Hutt, etc? I've been around for a while & there are some factions that consider me Kill on Sight! 
The searches thing I won't worry about, only been busted once since the started that & searched numerous times. Usually while transporting enought spice to kill every bantha on Tat, brandishing sliced weapons, slicing gear, and wearing a Reb Marine pack.
