I tried a bunch of independant patterns as well as patterns related to the starting positions of the sliders and nothing seemed to influenced the color of the bars (unless you put all the sliders at 0 in which case the bars disappear).

I finally just got lucky and it said I completed the task.

This is driving me nuts too. It looks like it's borked but I don't now for sure. Here's a screeny of a typical one for me.

I'm on my fifth attempt (after which I'll have to drive back to civilization to get more materials) and nothing I've tried has had any success. The other three were relatively simple and could be solved by logic. This one cannot

I have a puzzle for SOE to solve... every time I come across a bug or broken quest, my satisfaction meter moves a little lower. Eventually it moves so low that I decide the game isn't worth playing. It's not just this particular issue, but this is merely another example.

As far as I can tell, the sliders are to adjust the Red/Green/Blue of the signal. I took a look at the output,it was almost pure cyan, where the desired signal was a kind of olive green. Upped the first slider a bit (some more Red), ramped the middle slider up quite a bit (much more green), and tweaked the last slider down some (not quite so much Blue).

BAM. Nailed it at 100% condition... of course it weas the 6th time I'd had to assemble the damned thing.
