Here is my problem. If its simple to fix, I am sorry for sounding like a NOOB here. Been working alot in RL and playing the game alot too. My brain is fried.

I went to the village a few days ago to complete Phase 4 before 2/26 just to have it out of the way. When I spoke to the Captain, he offers 2 quests, 1 for enhanced reflexes and 1 for combat prowess. Not watching what I was doing due to fighting going on around me, I choosed Melee Defence quest instead of the combat prowess quest. The problem is, I don't have enhanced reflexes. So, I figured since I can't cancel the mission because I guess SOE doesn't care if people make mistakes, I decided to complete the phase anyway. Now for the past few days I have been killing Outlaws & Pirates in my free game time. As of this morning, I completed the quest and the screen said I unlocked Melee Defence. When I went back to talk to the Captain, he said I was busy with someone else? I would like to get the enhanced reflexes tree if this would correct the problem. I just hope I don't have to do this phase all over again because I did want combat prowess too. What should I do or am I up the creek without a paddle?

Make sure the xp you're going to use to train Ranged Speed is, in fact, FS Combat xp. If you have enough FS Combat xp to train 2 boxes, talk to Noldan (the Trandoshan in the little penned-in areanear a wall of the Village). He should say you're able to train in the Ranged Speed boxes, and let you choose them.

Paemos will only convert your xp, I know that he *can* tell you what you've unlocked, but I never bothered to check. I just talked to the trainer. Given how screwed up Phase 4's quest is with Sarguillo, I'm willing to bet something is goofed with your quest journal, and Paemos is mistaken.

If you still can't train in the Ranged Speed tree, and you're positive you did that and not Melee Defense, I guess the only option is call in a CSR and see what they have to say.

Sounds to me like you converted your XP to Combat Prowess FS points which cannot be used with Melee Defense branch. TO train the Melee Defense branch you must convert with you XP to Enhaced Reflexes FS points...then you can trian ER novice and Melee Defense.
