Thread: Dilemma of mine

I spend an entire buff session to max out my rifles XP on Baz Nitches. Commando's spend the same amont of time and get many multiples through their grenades. My question is, should I drop my rifleman to master Marksman before the CU cuts me off from the easy joy-ride effortless grinding Commando's do? Should I drop it to glide along as everyone else seems to be doing otherwise it would take months and I would be truly left behind.

Drop Rifles for Commando to get as close to Jedi as I can before the CU?

Some say nade grinding is cheating, taking the easy path to jedi. I disagree!! I believe it is a way of using the system to your advantage! I just got done with my last box earlier today!! I did my first 2 branches as you are with weapons xp...that took me about 6 months...of course i wasn't really pushing myself until i realized i had 6 unlocks and over 5 mill fs xp to go!! I got the remaining 4 branches filled in less than 2 weks with imperial detonators!! Hope that helps!!

If you want to be a jedi soon, or unlock your 2nd slot, make the switch. If you dont mind when your jedi, then keep your current template. Also consider what skills you will have once you are jedi, if you'll eventually be dropping rifleman, then mise well just do it now and make the switch. You could make your 2nd slot master rifleman if you wanted to. Goodluck with your decision.

You know i was really expecting a flame or two Thanks though guys. I think keeping TKM and dropping my Master Brawler & Rifleman is the way to go.

Just something to think about: If you drop Rifleman and want to go commando for the nades then just be aware that you will need to have a few million credits to supply yourself with the nades. Thermals and those run pretty high. So if you are sitting on like 400k to your name then your best bet would be to use c12s then and stay rifleman. But if you have millions then you should be fine. I don't remember exactly but i think someone said they spent about 3-6mil on nades for the grind so don't quote me on that. It could be more could be less just saying what i think someone said. Also if you are a casual gamer then you will have to take the time to grind master marksman and commando 4000 or whatever it is. If you are already a master marksman cool. It isn't a hard grind to get but casual players it may take awhile because they don't play much.

Anyways that just my info and hopefully helps you some.

Rifles and Ranged Support are the hard part of Marksman anyway ... the other weapons work well enough at melee range.

I don't know how many you need per branch or how many people use per lair but I do know it takes millions of credits to buy them for fs BUT that may be for all 6. Maybe borrow 1 mil credits and buy some imp detonators or thermal dets and see how fast you can level and how much it takes for a branch. If you can finish a full branch with 1 mil creds then cool but i honestly don't know the exact ammount. For all i know 1 mil may only get you the first 2 boxes.

You dont have to drop all of Rifleman skills as you really only need Commando 4/0/0/0. Then if you change your mind later it wont be so bad to get back, plus you could max your rifle XP before you drop any of it and save it (dont convert to FS points) for later if you do decide to go back to Master.

Ok now i've got Master Marksman, MRM & TKM. I'm at Novice commando if i get some Combat XP. If i get Commando 4XXX and see how much i can make then once i've made up some FSXP to get a line or two i can go back to my Rifles. That's the idea hopefully. I'm gonna chech the character builder to see how much i've gotta drop to do this commando grind. Post in a lil while folks.

P.S.

I really appreciate this feedback

Edit: Got the template. Drop MRM and lose Countersniping down to 2nd box. That gives me exactly enough for Commando 4. Whatcha think?

After a few hours of grinding (plus i had a stockpile of CXP) i've gotten to Marksman 4434. Now i've got 900k to my name. I can get more from my buddy who has..lets say several million. I'd however like to keep to my own bank account as long as possible. If i get Novice Commando are C-22's good to use? or should i use C12's ?

Many thanks for all your helpful replies =)

Personally and this is just my opinion, i would just stay master rifleman and use c12's as you can now. You won't gain combat xp much faster using c22's or other low end oneslike you would using imp detonators. If you only have 900k to your name don't waste time with commando. It is only good if you can afford the best nades. You can use c12's now so if you want to use nades that badly just use those.
