oR better yet, make it so anyone doing the FS grind is 'visible' and 'can go on the terms'...sheesh...

As long as this game remains a 'game' and a 'star wars' game at that, ordinary, average ppl are going to want to be a Jedi. These characters for the most part are what the whole star wars thing was about in the films so of course most everyone wants to be one. Let's just face it, a game like this can only be as 'realistic' as the players playing it. Everyone pays for it, everyone wants to do what they can with it and as long as there is a way to be jedi, ppl will find and exploit it. Sure the devs could be bastards and just wipe away 90% of the jedi population to make it more 'realistic' but that ain't happin cause 'real' ppl play this game and 'real' ppl are trying to get there money's worth.

As far as i'm concerned, the ONLY way this issue could've been resolved was back when the game first started and they made the path to Jedi a complete and total secret. The only way a character could be come jedi would be if a CSR (in the shape of a jedi) showed themselves to a random character (who's been playing for a certain amount of time) and asked them if they wanted to study in the ways of the force. If you said, 'no' the guy would disappear and you will 'hope' someday you might be randomly chosen again. If you said, 'yes' the guy would show you how to do it and hold you to a NDAOR tell you how to do it, but it would be a completely random procedure for everyone who gets chosen. The devs would have a set number of jedi in mind (say based on server population) and only go 'looking' for jedi when the server pop would allow for it. But this can never happen since pandora's box has already been opened. They can never 'take' someone's jedi away. We must accept the rules as they are and work with what we got.

I seriously think that the CU will put a cramp in the number of jedi showing up because although we all know how to do it, it will take much longer to actually accomplish it.

Why not just give us some high end content that's geared towards other professions? It wouldn't work for me, since I've always wanted to play a Jedi on SWG even before it was released, but I'd imagine if you could come up with some sort of viable content to interest the high level artisans, entertainers, scouts, etc., we wouldn't have such a huge focus on Jedi.

As someone else said earlier, there's nothing to do in this game once you've maxed out your chosen template. Grinding a different template just for something to do isn't something that everyone's going to want to do. Some of us even find it painfully boring.

Build a man a fire and he's warm for a night. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

And don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Because then you're a mile away and you have his shoes.

I agree with you in a way that theres too many jedi. Walked out of MO cantina a week or two ago and ran into about 8 rebel jedi knights. maybe one was a padawan. I think it would be could to put people doin the grind on terms too. However, being a jedi is what star wars is all about isnt it. Thats like 75% why people watch the movie. 25% is cause the star battles and the other is to see c3po get blown up. So ever since we first watched episode I thats when everyone loved the jedi for sure. then in episode II when Yoda pulled his moves everyone loved that too. They also were laughing so hard they knocked thier popcorn onto the guy infront of them. ( not me ) So I do say there are too many but for one its what they want to do, second its what the movies about, and third it give BH like i was a better selection of targets

cool and how about making all other professions cost the same amount of skill points as jedi skills cost.
