you have to do only 6 brancges, then you will be visited by the old man again. he will give you a wp to go and kill mel. kill mel and you become a jedi initiate.

i would advise reading the stickies or you may die whilst trying to kill mel

Isnt it once you kill mel you can start the padawan trials... then halfway through when you craft your first training saber you become initiate... then when you finish the trials you become padawan?

This is completely false. When you kill Mel you get a WP to a Force Shrine, then you start you padawan trials. After the 8th Trial which is to craft your first lightsaber, you become a Jedi Initiate. Upon completing the 16th trial is when you get your Padawan title, your robes, and your alternate character.

FYI A lot of people did not receive a shrine waypoint after killing Mel (including myself). It might be bugged. The waypoint is not necessary. There is a list of all the Shrine locations on the JEDI FAQ in the Jedi Forum. After Mel is dead go to any shrine, /kneel, and select meditatefrom the radial menuto start the trials. The closest shrine to a shuttleport is right outside Bella Vistal on Corellia. It's about 800m to the west.

Yeah, that seems to be the way. My friend unlocked a few months ago and her trial waypoint activated to the nearest shrine. I unlocked a few days ago and got no waypoint. Fortunately I'd already been to one of the shrines, so I loaded up the WP and went back there. Meditated and every thing was hunky-dory.

Just one quick note for the paddy trials.... You can meditate again and retry the current quest if you don't like the planet it is on.

My advice is to keep going until you get the trial at a city with a starport saves you tons of time in the long run.

You still have to go to the village for one of the trials, you can't change this, but all the others you can get them in a main city, saves shuttling all over the place.

Have fun and goodbye !!!!! Jedi forum here i come !!!

My god how slow is the first novice box for sabers !!!!!
