After I get a LS do my old mods for dodge and all still take effect or must I use the weapons I was using to get the box?
Like I have a pistoleer box with +15 dodge. does that mean I have to use a pistol to have dodge take effect or can I use an LS or w/e else?

your abbilities & such will remain the same, they will only be removed as you replace with them during the process of building your jedi template.

(just to make sure...)
So, if I have melee defense and all,as I'm going FS and knight or w/e as a FS or initiate, the defense will still help me regardless of what weapon or w/e I'm using?

yes, if you still have the abbility in your template, then it still works.
the traits like this have no affect on what weapon your using, unless it is specified, IE, ranged speed helps with ranged weapons, melee helps with non ranged weapons.
if you have melee defense, then that will work for any melee situation, regardless of what weapon you are holding

But remember if you surrender the skill that has the trait, then the trait will be surrendered also.
