Thread: FS and CU, question.
I'm currently working on FS and with the new CU docs that came out recently, I've had a nagging thought in the back of my mind. First off, let me say that I dont want this to be a "complaining" thread, I really am interested in knowing what people think, in a positive way please.
Question: It seems that with armor reductions and the re-balancing of combat profs, we won't be able to take down 50 squills in 10 minutes (tanks wont have area attacks, and snipers wont have too much defense). So in essence, would that reduce the ratio of xp/minute?? If we can grind 60000 FS xp in 3 hours now, and we eliminate uber buffs, and reduce armor potency, and split the combat profs into def/off... What'll happen to our FS grind?? Are we going to have to be content with 5000 FS xp per play session??
Is this a possibility? Maybe this is how they'll thin out the Jedi hurd? It wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but man, that would totally put a cramp on my Jedi plans, haha. In any case, thoughts?
LOL, ever wonder why there is such a boom in grenade sales? They were selling pretty good now, but with CU lurking, everyone (including myself) is in 'panic mode' to take advantage of the existing system while it's so easy. Especially those of us that are so close (only 2 unlocks left and 2 branches left to bank) to getting our exit quest. Which reminds me, I wonder how tough Mel will be after CU? My last unlock will occur about a week after CU hits so i'll be among the first group to fight him under the new system...very interesting...

Your points are valid.
Since there are a number of Jedi around...a large number, plus all of the whiners about the amount of Jedi around, you can bet that the CU will change the speed at which this is possible.
I have the next 4 weekends tied up, so I am going to grind myself blind this weekend, and unlock my 5th branch at the village too. Since the Phase shift will come before May 5th, I should be able to unlock my 6th branch and be done with Mellichae before it hits.
I don't care what I have to do to finish the grind before then, because I know there is no way it is going to remain the same or get anything but harder after the CU.

I hadn't thought about the windups/downs for specials, and I await to see how far our health bar will go (with exp of course). In the end, like someone else said in another forum, I'm in this for the long run anyway, so if SWG plows ahead I'll be there, and if it crashes, I'll go down with the ship.
I still love this game (and for positivism's sake, I think the following things are awesome: JTL, the Wook expansion, the re-balancing of combat profs to make them equal yet different, and the fact that EVENTUALLY, I'll still get to be a Jedi).

I'm not too panicky about CU, I mean yes, I'm a little worried about the grind, but I mean there's nothing I can do about it. I think the best bet is to sit back and adapt if need be. I'm not too far into my grind (unlocked 2, up to 3rd box of the first), so I think it won't be as much of a downer for me if they do make it tougher.

you have the same attitude as me ![]()
As of yet, xp is hard to come by, and grenades are still functional (but nobody knows how much xp they weild). I'm still getting more and more excited for the CU. I hope it makes the game more fun, as the Devs have indicated it will.
Yeehaw.
This is a common point I have seen all night and it is very obvious that people need to stop going after PURPLE conning mobs. In the current game I know folks pretty much ignore the color con of a mob, but it is very important in the new system. Reds and Purples are very very dangerous. At level 1 a level 5-7 Durni is going to stomp all over you, go look for some of the new level 1-5 mobs we put in around Bestine and MosEisley and see how you fare.
Characters are no longer invulnerable to everything, try to stick with white blue and green conning mobs. If you have trouble with the color, you combat level is under your group role symbol next to your HAM bar and the mob should reflect its level by a number in the center of its con bubble.

Only problem is, is that the CU will cause more annoyances for those of us that have seen everything and been everywhere. Granted this will make the game alot "larger"from the perspective of new ppl but incredibly difficult to accept when you've already seen 'the big picture'... Almost everyone who has been to the end of the geo cave or through the nightsister stronghold will probably never be there again, not out of choice, but because they are no longer strong enough to reenter those places. CRAZY, i finally understand some of the veteran points of view as this CU being the 'end game' for alot of people.
Don't get me wrong, I am happy about the combat changes that are coming in that we'll have to group hunt more, but I am ALOT more happy that I got to play this game before the changes because otherwise alot of stuff probably would have been a b!tch to get within my reach.
