I used THERMAL grenades with NO pups on Giant Baz Nitches and received about 5500 combat xp per kill (about 100k per lair, if you milk it twice)

100k Combat XP Per lair? What difficulty? How did you manage that?

pups dont give you more xp, they just help you deal more damage and therefore make the whole experience that little bit quicker

Thermals work better for me, more damage per grenade thrown, more radius, crazier looking explosion too. They may have a lower min/max than Imperials but they have AP2 which gives more damage. Rips your armour to shreds though. Best bet is to buy a few of each and see which works better for you.

Wow...that's why i've been noticing myself taking gradual damage while nading. Harsh X_X

I used imp nades myself, as i had access to most of theresources needed and owned the harvesters/factories needed to harvest the rest.
Got a weaponsmith in my guild to make the component schems i needed (3 components needed for imp nades) and then got the factories working on them. Then when the components were finished, had my guildie make the schem for the imp nade by giving him 1 of each or the component and the 2 resources required.
Heaps cheaping doing it yourself. if u do it this way get the list of resources needed for the components and final nade, including the amount needed for 1 nade and the minimum stats on the resources.
Also got the schems made up for thenade pup's done also.
If u do it this way, make sure u keep track of the name of the different resources used for the components and nade via an e-mail to yourself and placing the resources into a named bag with the component as the bags name. i used the 20 item bag things (whate ever they are called) and placed all 4 bags into a backpack.

I'm using Imp nades for the simple reason that Crism ore hasnt spawned on my server in 77 days!
I only need 2250 of it and NO ONE HAS IT!! errr but the Imp dets do fine, When I get time i slice them but its not vital and pups do just fine.

also, i can do a bit more xp than this so its not really that hard. i can usually get anywhere from 220-280k from doing 2 missions, depending on if anything tries stealing my GBN

what i did for this was drop everyhting cept tka and went master comando because once u have that u have the extra +40 thrown weapon accuracy which helps tons. also proton nades are dang good for baz nitches as they have no heat res and do around 3000-4000 damge each
only prob is finding a WS vendor with protons stocked
lol
Riky
my two cents

ive never been master commando, so cant comment on the protons, but the accuracy would make absolutely no difference. you are throwing nades at the lair, not the GBN, so you never miss anyway. the only time the accuracy would make a difference is if you were throwing grenades at single GBN that run off when they are dying, which frankly is a complete waste of nades

Personally I enjoy using C12 Grenades. Using C12s I don't need to add any Commando to my template at all and don't need to change my template.
By getting in a Solo Group and running 11K Giant Baz Nitch lairs on Dath I can get 60K Combat XP per lair (uses 15 nades per lair - 75 tosses). It takes some time but it is pretty mindless so once you have the lair going you can watch some TV while clicking on your nades every so often. Doing this you can easily get 200K FS Exp in a buff session. I always attack the lair and aim my nades at the lair... doing this you never miss the creatures around the lair that are in the grenade radius.
Just my 2 cents as I have never understood everyone trying to level Commando just to toss the nades.

I agree. Using C12's I cap after 2.5 lairs - that's plenty quick enough for me and I don't have to change my template or spend as much $$ although I use about 100 nades or so per spawn so I guess even at 25k per crate it all balances out in the end.
