Force Sensitive Archive

Okay the first time I was attacked they incapped me and took my crystal (Darn you Sith /shake fist at them) but the second time I was ready and waited around a rebel base. Well they attacked and we killed them all but it said I did not have permission to loot. I dont understand why this happened. Has this happened to anyone else, and I guess I have to wait for them again. But the question is, Do I have to do all the damage to kill them or can other people help? Can I run around in circles shooting everynow and then but trying to stay out of eye-sight?

Your knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated
