Well like it or not Jump to Lightspeed will be coming to the galaxy far, far away and I'm just curious what other mayors are doing to prepare for this.

Well I'm thinking about setting up a shipyard house with all guild members on theadmin and a few crafting stations.Becausewith what I hear there will be a lot of looted and crafted ship parts that can be swapped out of the ships and be traded down to another guild member if they need they parts. Another thing I was considering is askingpeople with extra lots to place harvasters to feed the artisans.

Not too terribly much, most of the members of the main guild got into beta so they know the resources that they'll need. (and NDA or not, when you see a guy that you know is in the beta hording X you're gonna start harvesting it too so odds are everybody knows and just keeps quite about it) I'm gonna start saving up for a high end shipwright crafting station to put in the mall's crafter room. Still need to get in touch with the guy that make's ric's stations to get an idea on their cost off the cuff.

Beyond that just beautifying and arranging the city to make it look as good as it can and attract people woh are spaceboundto spend the little bit of time on the ground in there. With the merging of valor we've got a good number of more homes coming in so a few storage sheds are bound to be part of that, plus we need to rebuild part of the base wall and all those homes are empty from what I can tell. So a few A-wings can be made out of the storage space over there.

OK. With the anticipation of the CU weapons, and the galactic vendor search and purchase, I would like everyones opinion on a couple of things.

1. I feel that master ELITE professions should get a +1 to vendor, and +500 to vendor item limit. Why? Because stocking our vendors with the current weapons, and the new CU weapons can surpass our vendor item limits. Why should it be necessary for us to sacrifice our skill points to obtain Novice Merchant, and additional merchant skill boxes? Shouldn't we as elite crafters in this game have some kind of vendor/vendor items bonus?

2. I'm all for the galactic vendor listing. Saves me alot of time search through countless of worthless vendors, just to look for a specific item. And, I can easily maintain one vendor with all my stock, offer the best price, no need to seperate melee, range, powerups, etc. But, the item limits are too low after Artisan 4040, and theres no Master Artisan bonus for vendor/vendor items limits.

The technical term for this is "systems balancing", prior to release. After release, it's still balancing, but changes can be considered nerfs or enhancements.
Since you don't have it yet, if you cry nerf, I'll make sure your name is on the list to spew chicken feathers as your characters talk.

im totally against your second point. t makes the game too easy, will make impulse buys obsolete, people wont pop into my shop for a chat or barter/trade for weapons and it will really marginalise the game for me. il become a stocking monkey and it will dehumanise and detract from the great community spirit that having to make some effort for your weapons can add to your game.

with the loss of criticals, extra resources, decay kits, galaxywide vendor search etc the game is getting easier and easier...how long before no xp loss on jedi death?

all these thigs pander to our egos and to our pockets and sense of "winning" but how many have looked beyond it to what it will do to the game.

perhaps im being too pesimistic i dont know but things dont feel right at all at the minute

I totally totally agree with Ralyias.

I mentioned the same thing in a post when they announced the global vendor search.

Where the hell is the discussion / interaction between the developers and the people who have been playing this game since launch (apart from blinking jedi focus groups). I believe they are aiming to change the focus of the game away from crafting and towards a simple shoot em up game.

Newbies will soon get a full suite of weapons upon starting, a bag full of cash, and directions to the mission terminals.

yep gotta agree with other 2 replies. I disagree with your 2nd opinion

Kiss goodbye to malls, shop banter and loyal customers if that goes ahead.

A huge part of being a smith is the customers. I enjoying talking to *most* of my customers while they are browsing my vendor or before/after they browse.

if global bazaar was in place that wouldnt happen and for me would kill thre profession

Riiiight, galaxy vendor listings... so basically nerfing half of merchant right? My nice stormtrooper armour vendor won't look to go, having Mando, BH and RIS armour on display won't help, all of the rarer loot/quest paintings (inc. anniversary ones). My 3 rugs, the ST armour on a friends vendor... THE ARMY OF 15 R2-D2s!!! (and rising) my display of weapons 0.2 speed, 11886 damage (powered up not sliced) glop grenade, NSEL schem, all vet rewards. Right ok so I spent my time decorating my mini-mall so that 1 person can buy a vk from endor?

Merchant is key to any crafter, live with it. I'd quick as a flash drop merchant if I could but I honestly think it would be a bad thing to remove any reason to be a merchant by increasing storage at Master crafting.

EDIT: My brother has been busy... R2 army has risen from 11 to 15...

As far as i understand it, people will still need to go and pickup the items. But there will be the ability to search the planet to see if anything is there.

I completely disagree with the whole concept. How is a new crafter supposed to break into the market? People will simply check on the global search and see all the established crafters with their awesome pr0 l337 armour / weapons etc etc and buy that, leaving the newer crafters behind.

It might benefit, it might not.

You can get a large amount of space on vendors with just 0004 Merchant. Then get 3004 and u can get your vendors marked on the Planetary Map! Also if the global search system is implemented i think it will be a merchant skill, gained at either master or 4xxx.

I dont really care about the suggested options because I am apposed to the situations being forced upon our class.

and so the slow death of our professio will begin turning us into stocking monkeys and only allowing established crafters to compete..

It is kinda hard to say at this point since really no one has done it...with the New CU..we were in phase 3 when the CU rolled out and the siths were unbalance at that time...
(Maybe there has been some).
