This is a little out of hand dont you think i mean you go on and see lvl 20s trying to become jedi?? do half of them even play the game? I've been playing almost 2 years and not made an effort to get jedi and these guys have played 2 days and looking for help. Thats a little crazy for me.

I've been here over a year now, got glowy by accident back in December *shakes fist at Nym* did a few quests for giggles and got 3 unlocksand only did the fs grind in the last double xp week cos I figured it was worth a week of tedious grind to get an alt which is all I'm worried about (my saber's going in the bin).

The problem is, the game is now marketed as "Be a Jedi". If you check any of the adverts on TV, magazines, its all about becoming one. I suggest making a new character on any server and doing the new "intro" since the cu, it's 100% rammed down your throat that one day you will be a jedi. I'm starting to realise that even the most ardent SW fan who starts and thinks, I'd like to just live as a "normal" in the SW universe will be set to thinking about jedi's by the time they finish that. And I think by now there are very few ardent SW fans who play PC games who won't have tried one of the numerous 30 day trials over the past year or more.

So now we're get the younger players (not that there is anything wrong with youth) who are coming off the back of Eps 1-3 (not the original trilogy) which had jedi all over the place, pushed to play by a marketing campaign that says you can be a jedi and told in their intro before they ever reach Mos Eisley that they have the potential to be a jedi...

is it any wonder their first question is, how??

So? Why do you think this is crazy? Everyone plays this game to have fun, their fun. If fun for them is to be a Jedi, then more power to them.

I, for one, like the influx of new players.

When I first started this game in feb 04, I had my heart set on being MBH. I grinded out the skills, enjoying the grouping with my friends, not wanting Jedi.

But as time went on, there were less and less things to do. How many times can you clear out the Geo labs? My friends started to not show up more and more, and the only thing left was to go Jedi.

I have a full template now, and with the new changes coming in pub 20, I can actually go group with my guildies (and because of the new stuff, the guild is back up to 30 people or so), and enjoy the game again.

im in the same boat as you guys, hopefully something will work out in the future or it will turn into one of those things were most of the newbes are like "OMG JEDI" then they give it up once they find out about the village and then jedi grind after, hopefully....
