Thread: Entertainers get no love
There is a war going on in the village. They are constantly under attack, constantly being hunted by Sith, and you think they have need of some nutjob in spandex who will dance around with a flute? They're a bit busy tending to the wounded and trying to fight back the enemy horde, not to mention trying to rebuild their walls and defense turrets. ![]()
Oh and no, there is no correspondent for the FS forums. The Jedi correspondent pops in from time to time to sticky stuff and post information, and he tries to get the devs to respond to FS issues, but we don't have anyone that is specifically for this forum.

I believe that the villages are also morally destroyed . . .who better to lift their spirits than theentertainer couragous (or maybe just crazy) enough to make the trip out there.Plus . . . FS skills are supposed to be for the betterment of all types of characters . . . entertainers as well.
technically, since you CAN get FS experience via dancing/music (exchanging in the Heightened sense tree) we should be seeing the same hologrind thing now . . but that has died down. I'm not saying to have an entertainer quest in every phase but one would be nice. Currently, in Heightened sense, thereare2 branches that require you to be medic to unlock - persuasion and healing, (though persuasion is a mystery now post-CU) and2 that require being an artisan - luck and survey. Entertainers have an entire tree in which to convert theri XP but no trees that can be unlocked unless they pick up another proffession.
The Crafting tree obviously takes crafting (aka arisan based) experience and the combat Prowess and Reflex trees both take combat. This makes even the idea of beingFS as an entertainer unlikely . . . not to mention that the healing branch gave a bonus to entertainer healing . . . but entertainers don't qualify for the quest (unless they are also medics) Now with the CU, there are no mind wounds so the healing branch is meaningless. Its a pity to all the entertainers who wanted to become FS for some kind of benefit and have found none.
We pushed for anything Entertainer in the Village when it was getting developed, to only get....the minimal bonuses you saw in wound healing (which I guess now affects inspiration buffs, pity they can't spend the few minutes to change our skill mods so they make sense in any way).
Anyhow, yes - I'm in full agreement, there should be a cantina in the village, and a way for Entertainers to perform there.
As to the narrow-minded person who said that there was a war on, and nobody would need Entertainers around, etc - you go talk to any World War II veteran, and you ask 'em how important it was for them to visit the local bar/pub when they had an opportunity to do so, between fighting.
Anything in a war that makes you feel half-way normal again, and lets you forget about the war is a welcome thing. It makes nothing but sense to put a cantina in the village.
Yeah, so people might AFK there (until they do away with that). At least they'd AFK in the middle of nowhere, Dathomir instead of in the bigger NPC cities and steal away customers from newbie Entertainers.

Entertainers get no love? How about just the fact that you can fill all four force sense trees with XP gained while AFK? Asside from Phase one. all you need to unlock the 2 3 4th phases is novice artisan, or a friend who is artisan to survey for you. Hee hee. Thats what I did. Then novice Medic to heal folks during Phase 4.
Being an Entertainer is a big plus for the village on the sheer fact that you can max out dance knowledge IV xp of 900k in a day of AFK and cash in for 90k fsxp. take two weeks a branch. Made all my xp for my alt that way. Ive even decided to unlock my force sense lines. make it even easier to get jedi.
True there's not force sensative bonus, but there definately are perks to being an entertainer.
I fail to see how that equals entertainers "getting love".
AFK grinders are the ones getting the love here, not the entertainers.IWhat you just said is like saying thatranged professions would be "getting love" if they could convert their XP, but only train stuff that would increase melee skills.

And I'm sure those vets can tell me a hundred different stories about the bars/pubs that were located in their trenches. You forget that the village is the front lines of the war. Stand in the middle of the village during phase 4 and tell me there should be a cantina there. You want to cheer up the people, stand outside and pitch a tent.

actualy, I've been through Phase 4 and to be honest the hut behind Paemos (when he's not taing a stroll) would be the perfect place as a cantina/medcenter as the Sith lose the ability to target you when you enter it.
Please understand, I didn't start this thread because entertainers can't gain Force XP . . . we can . . . I started it because there is no "in game" bonus to entertainers to become FS. There is no entertainer specific quest though there are combat, medical and crafting quests. There are branches with benefits to all proffs except enetertainer as we no longer "heal wounds"
I'm sorry if it takes more money for crafters to gain XP . . . but isn't that reflected in the trade in? I'm not a crafter so I'm not really sure. On the other hand, you don't need to craft to get heightened sense XP (in fact you can do it with a vendor) but you can unlock two brnches with just novice artisan skills.
its not a question of gaining XP . . . its a question of hy wold we need FS XP when there aren't any benefits to our proffession by becoming FS.
