Thread: Melee Speed Quests from Dageerin (Need Advice Please)

I am Master Doctor and Master Fencer. The 1st Sith Camp I went to, following the Radiation Sensor, I put up a pretty good battle but being Argo'd by 5 Sith, really killed me. My heals couldn't keep up.

I cloned at the Science Outpost, turned on my Sensor and headed back to the Village. About 1500+m from the Science Outpost, I get another reading on a Sith Camp. Only 4 Sith at this camp. I equip with my laser rifle at about 55m and shoot once. Re-equip with my Blade of Kaassyk (sp), and thank god only 2 sith argo andare after me and I was able to kill them and move to the next 2 and destroy the camp.

My buddy calls me and says we are doing the same quest. I help him and he helps me. I help him finish his 1st Sith Camp. I got incapped healing him (they argo'd me), but I didn't die.

We get our 2nd missions from Dageerin, and there are 5 Sith at this camp. Mine is pretty easy one because the 5 Sithare all spread out and there is a valley. His 2nd mission is on a flat plain and there are 5 Sithat this camp. I tell my friend I will try to pull "one" with my laser rifle. I fired once. ALL 5 SITH RUN AFTER ME AND ATTACK ME!!! Damm!! I get incapped fast. Once I am incapped the Sith walk away, but my buddy catches up to one of them and kills them. Then we go after the other 4 and for some reason they keep argo'ing me when I do heals...I was slain..again....but my bud was able to finish them off, he's a TKM.

If he's not on when I want to continue this quest, what is the best way to fight these guys??? As a Fencer I am having a hard time with them argo'n on me even with Master Doctor. I can do 2 at a time, but 3 is really pushing it and 4 or 5 forget it...I am dead meat.

Any Advice????

This is a tactic my partner and I use:

One of us uses a pet or a droid to single pull them away from the camp. We ususally set up about 50-60 meters away. Works everytime. Sometimes we end up pulling 2, but even that is manageable. We are both melee toons, so wading into a camp with 5-8 Sith would be suicide.

Good Luck on your quest!

My thought here too. Grab you a probot droid and use him to pull.

The ol' droid pull would be the best bet for anyone who can't take all five on at once.

My first camp, they were spread out, so there was no issue with fighting more than two at once.

The second, however, was in a valley, so it was me (MBH/MCM) against all of them. I just made sure I had a good shield up, my katarn armor on, and started to play. (Let me state, for the record, that deuterium toss and neurotoxin are evil, evil things, even in the low-damage post-CU environment!) I just made sure to keep two fully dotted at all times, duellist stance was active the entire time, and I would heal whenever I got below half life, cycling between toss, shot, spray, and my stims. Admittedly, the first half was mostly me trying to stay standing while the returned fire and dots did the work, but once the first two dropped, it got fairly easy. (Side note, my shirt, bandolier, andbackpack give me a total of +25 ranged and melee defense, and I already have the ranged defense FS tree maxxed.)

If you're a healer backing up a tank, make sure that the tank uses every AE he can find on the sith (this will require planning to make sure nothing else is in the AoE), or else as soon as you heal him the first time, they're coming for you.

Or walk up to them one at a time, once you see the ? take it one step at a time till you get a !, one will start shooting you so run a bit to pull him out and bingo, it's one-on-one action, takes some time but alot easier.

The pulling method, for sure. Droids, or for my part I use a level 10 non-CH pet. Pulling the Siths one by one, and the mission becomes really easy.

You are running a COB macro aren't you and do have full buffs and maybe a brandy or BoH?

My TKM/MDoc is soloing these without incaps and whilst I do benefit from the extra 250 COB I am sure you ought to be able to fight ok without and some carefull preperation. The Fights ARE tough and sometimes I have to take a break and go into a healing cycle but havn't incapped once yet.

Note :- most of the time I do NOT have Powerboost up. I just go into the fight with brandy, buffs and COB.

As many have said the pulling method is indeed useful but if they are close together you cannot always pull them one by one as they all aggro.

What I did for the last camp (when they all stood within 5 metres of each other) is that I equipped the Advanced Laser Rifle shot the closest Sith Shadow and enabled /burstrun... I only had to run for a few seconds until the Sith realised that I was out of their range. They started to retreat and at this point I turned back and since I was in burstrun mode I could catch up with the one I shot at initially, attacked him again and made him abandon his retreat. Worked pretty well asthe others were runningback to their campwhile I had onlyone toworry about

An alternative method is to drag them to some nearby animals and let them do the tanking for you.

Just put up a 62 ranged rifle and shoot one, usually come solo. that's how I did it, even though I could go in and kill all five without worrying.
