If you have the time and the answer, please reply:

Do you have to have a matching waypoint (from a waypoint disc) and matching remote in order to attack the base?

I got a bunch of each, but none have matched yet.

No, the waypoint disk is just for your reference. you just need the remote to match the base that you are trying to attack.
