Thread: Different quest, same phase?

Hi, let me first apologize b/c I know these questions get answered different ways and different places - I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
Okay, I understand you need to think carefully about which quest you take when you take it, but last night, in the heat of getting a group together and speeding things up, my husband accepted the melee accuracy quest. While I think its worthy and am doing it myself, he's more of a ranged BH/Commando type of guy and doesn't think it will benefit him. So, can he just wait for Phase 3 to roll around again and get a different quest? Or will he have to, at some point finish what he started last night?
Thanks tons for any info! I also read that some people have completed 7 trees and dropped one. If he's not able to get a different quest, would it be an option then to do this (although the grind would be nightmarish)?

I have experienced this also. Phase 3 last time I took the dreaded Melee Accuracy quest. I tried numerous times unsuccessfully to complete this, but just could never get it. I waited until the next phase 3, was able to take the vehicular control quest without completing the Melee accuracy from the previous phase 3 and complete Whips quest and receive the reward as well as unlocking the vehicular control branch. Hope this answers your question!

Basically what happens is at the end each phase, any uncompleted quests will be reset. It will be as if you never took on the quest.
I really recommend that you do the quest though. If you are hoping to make Jedi at some point in the future then extra melee accuracy will be useful.
Even if you aren't going to go for Jedi, do the quest for the rewards. The focused crystal is a lovely item and if you don't want it you can sell it for about 6 million.
I know the quest is hard, but if you do it the sneaky way you don't even need to fight, and wouldn't need much combat skill at all. The sneaky way is well documented on this forum.

If you plan to be a Jedi, Melee Accurracy is THE most important of the FS skills to have. Jedi is a melee profession and lightsabers have terrible accuracy. Melee speed is also an important skill but it becomes capped by the time you reach Master Lightsaber. Accuracy does not. IMO the four "must haves" to move to jedi are Melee Accuracy, Melee Speed, Melee Defense, and Ranged Defense. The rest are of limited use. Survival gives you some terrain negotiation, which is useful because you'll be chasing easy prey, or running from BHs. Vehicle gives you better acceleration for quick getaways. Luck might be the worse skillbecause it increses the amount of credits dropped, but padawans don't fight things that drop credits because they would gain visibility.
