Thread: if i got melee defence last phase 4 can i get ranged speed this phase 4?

Yes, you should be able to do the quest again, but this time choose ranged speed. I don't see why you'd have to choose between one tree or the other, but not both, so long as you do them in different phase 4's.
I'm going the same route as you, so if I get the message that I can't do it, I'll be crying alongside you. 1.25 million wasted FS xp is no small matter 
To answer TaoSenti's question - to get my Jedi, that's why. Most of the skills in FS are useless anyways, but nevertheless you have to fill 6 branches. I'd rather get an unlock in phase 4, have my combat xp ground out, and start working on my jedi rather than waiting another 3 weeks just to get survival or something. in that 3 weeks time I could be a padawan and working towards novice Lightsaber or even a tier1 box in lightsaber.
If I decide I want another FS skill, I'll just do the quest when it pops up in the village to unlock the branch, then consider grinding out another branch I really want and dropping the one that I don't want.
