Thread: Need some Dev love/help with shaving my Wookie...

I have recently returned to SWGafter seeing Episode III (I am sure am not the only one :smileyvery-happy


So my percieved problem is this. I hope that I can find a Dev or anyone at SOE that can give this due consideration.


First let me state that I am not a power gamer. I have a large demand on my real time that I am sure most others do also. So I truely do not have the desire to just delete my toon with all his accomplishments (hologrind badges only 16 +3 other before badges were implemented) and go at it again. Plus finding someone in game to trust while handing and redeeding all my ingame items to. Or to grind out the Jedi slot do the 8 trials open my second slot and redo it all again.


I really do not know how many can remember when this game first came out and we were told that we could open a 2nd slot and that would be our Jedi character. Well, I took that to mean excactly that so I made a Wookie who I figured would be that character. I do know that the TOS states that SOE can do anything that is why this is a request.


Well, needless to say when the 'new' way came down I cancelled. I admit I missed SWG but I was just too ticked.


So I am appealling here can someone just turn my character into a human or help me out by just deleting him and giving me a human in the same state as my wookie (CL and unlocks I have completed them)? I really don't even care about the badges and the gear now. I can find someone to hang onto my creds.


I hope that SOE can see this is a fair request. I just get frustrated thinking that as I spark my saber up for the first time my nose will be assulted by the smellburninghair

the devs stated that you cannot change your race after you chose it at the character selection screen

I realize that, They also stated that your first toon couldn't be your FS toon.


Following that line of thinking. If they changed the first (unlocking a 2nd slot which would be the FS slot).Then they would give due consideration in changing my race.


So in case SOE didn't understand my request. This character that I have (the wookie) was made in 2003 under the statement the SOE said that your First character would not be your FS character. Since they changed that I quit (in 2004 I believe). I am back and makingthis request.


Your statement I understand.I am asking a fair request to change my race to a human. I didn't error when making my race and wanting them to fix that. They changed the rule on us, and I unfortunately was one of the few it affected that way. So I came back (after quiting because of this)to check it out the game again. I am still affected by SOE change from over a year ago and I am /petitioning for a correction. Simple it will or will not be given. But because they say "We state during character creation that your race is finally" is just not right. Because (as I stated above)I made a Wookie as my first character because they stated to me "you will have to unlock your second character to play your Jedi on."

wookiee's make great jebi. and with thier armor they are on a level playing field with other species.

lol i got a second account and made a human char a long time ago because wookiees couldn't wear armor. Currently though, a wookiee is a completely viable character. as a CL 80 you have 3250 health (human only 3000) and if your looking to become a jedi you can't wear armor anyway. so unless you just don't like being a wookiee, there is no reason to change, since there is no longer a balance issue with being a wokiee.

Seems like a reasonable request to me. They changed the rules so they should take responsibility and give you an opportunity to respec you're character's race. That said, i think you're still SOL. I've never read of any toon in any circumstance being granted a race change. Sorry, i wish you luck in being the first, but i think you'd better start looking for a wookie-size robe and tunic.

Thing is, this isn't a "fair" request. You said it yourself, the TOS deems that SOE can make any changes they so choose, no matter how it effects your character.


Your statement "you will unlock your second character to play your Jedi on." is no longer valid and was changed as per SOE's TOS. No matter how it effects you, there is nothing that can, or should be done. You made the choice of going wookie and regardless of what they said then, Tthings change and this is clearly mentioned in the TOS (as already mentioned).
