I think the reward from the Vehicle one is suppose to be really good. a good buff that you can use every 3 days. Good for if a BH attacks you.

Unless you are about to unlock and cant' wait, do both quests(if you dont mind waiting until the next time the phase comes around). I did vehicle control to get the Health Crystal and then did melee speed next time around. I have since filled the melee speed branch and am leaving the vehicle control branch empty since I only wanted the reward. You may want to do melee speed then wait for vehicle control during the next cycle

Remember you can alway unlock that branch later even if you have already filled 6 branches so there really is no reason not to do both. It's just a question of which one to do first.
