If you want to unlock a branch in the crafting tree then yes, but seems kinda pointless if you dropped artisan to attempt FS Crafting. Stick with the Combat trees instead. In case of confusion there are 4 "Trees" Each With 4 "Branches"
Combat Prowess: Combat/Weapon/Squad Leader/BH Experience
Enhanced Reflexes : Same As Above
Heightened Senses : Creature H., Dancing,Ent. Heal,Image Design,Medical,Merchant,Music,Scout,Slice,Survey,Survival,Trapping
Crafting Mastery:Architect,Armor,Bio-Eng,Droid,Food,General,Medicine,Spice,Tailor,Weapon
So you see the xp you grind can be applied to any of the trees above based upon what kind of xp it is. Since there are 4 branches per tree you have 12 branches you can unlock without using any crafting xp.

im almost glowy (one more poi i think) and im preparing my self for alot of grinding ahead. but i noticed on a guide about fs that you needed crafting exp for a fs tree. i gave uo novice artisan to get skill points but will i have to re-learn it?
