I was talking to my friend over aim today about why jedi's wear robes. Like aniken and his master in the movies... I always thought and from what I read it had to do with accessing their force powers without the hinderance of armor. Is it more of a fashion sense or something more? Or is it to tell the world look I a jedi and what rank I posses? It would seem the BH would notice them more. hehe.

KOTOR is such a awesome game... Can't wait for Part 2 of PC Verison in Feb!It has definately spurred my interest morein the ways of the Jedi! Even if I play an imperial soldier.

Its kind of like asking why Monks wear robes. Jedi dont wear robes for any reasons having do to with fighting(as you mentioned armor MIGHT hinder their force powers, although in the clone wars mini series Obi-Wan wears clone trooper armor while using the force, not to mention Vader wears armor...) Jedi are not fighters, they are just sometimes forced to engage in combat to protect that which they serve. In the SW universe Jedi are monks. While RL monks are servants of God, Jedi are servants of the Force.
