works fine for me.
Step 1: Gather your forces
Minimum Requirements
1 Master Rifleman to Conceal/Strafe
1 Master Doctor For Rez
1 Master Creature handler with 2-3 buffed Pets
5 Combat Professions of various types to suit. Preferably Master
Preferred Requirements
2 Master Riflemen to Conceal/Strafe
2 Master Doctor For Rez
1 Master Creature handler with 2-3 buffed Pets
8 Combat Professions of various types to suit. Preferably Master
Step 2: Pre-Briefing
Make sure all your group members know what the primary and secondary targets and what their roles are
Primary Target: The Three Crystals
Secondary Target: Lesser Mobs
Tertiary Target: Mellichae
Roles of the Riflemen:
Riflemen need to be up and functional for the end run at Mellichae. They will need to Strafe2/Conceal him once the crystals are down
Roles of the Doctor:
Keep the riflemen up and running. At no time should the doctors engage in combat. If Mellichae targets them they should burst run out of his range.
Everyone else: Kill the crystals and kill all lesser mobs.
Step 3: Identify the three Crystals
Before beginning combat it is important to identify the 3 crystals. These are your primary targets. In order to succeed all three crystals must be defeated and they regenerate at a high rate.
These Crystals will heal the Tertiary Target to full in 3-5 seconds as long as 1 survives. You cannot win the mission if one of these crystals survives.
At this time there is a known issue where one or more crystals may spawn inside a player house and cannot be hit. If this happens file a ticket and scrub the mission. You can't win while those crystals are active.
You will need to devote at least 3-5 combatants to each crystal. I highly recommend making waypoints for each crystal and distributing those waypoints to your group members.
Step 4: Begin Assault
Start by attacking the crystals With this plan each crystal will fall within 30 seconds. Ignore all the mobs until these crystals are down.
Creature Handlers should use their buffed pets to distract higher level mobs from killing your group while you do this.
Step 5: Take out the Card Stock Commies
Ignore the guy with the lightsaber if you can. If he is currently attacking you run away from the rest of your group in the hopes that he will follow you. You will die unless you burst run. But at least your death will buy your comrades some time to take down his army of 6-8 lesser Sith Shadow mobs.
Step 6: Show Mellichae that what Vader did to him was nothing compared to what your going to do to him.
Mellichae is tough. 80% resists to everything except light sabers. Medium Armor. Roughly 60k HAM. His lightsaber hits do 1500-2000 damage per strike.
Option 1: The Sneaky Way. All players should withdraw from the battlefield.
If the Tertiary Target is currently hitting you and your not one of the riflemen or the doctor draw him away from the group and let him kill you.
Then the riflemen should conceal/strafe2 him to death.
Option 2: The frontal assault. Everyone concentrates fire on the target. He will kill everyone he targets in 1-3 hits. Good luck with that.
As you can tell I'm a big fan of option 1. It works well.

i could be wrong but aren't there 4 crystals?
2 red 2 green?
And I thought you had to destroy the green crystals first because they will heal the red crystals???

Yes, there are FOUR crystals, not three. They must be taken out before you can do any significant damage to Mel or his posse.
As for the red/green colors, I've never seen the colors myself (they all look green to me) but after my last battle it seemed like some of the crystals were healing Mel and friends and the rest were healing the other crystals. In other words, if you are beating a crystal down, and it heals, switch to a different crystal and kill it first.
Hope this helps.

I've had people say that there were 4 crystals in their mission but I have not seen a mission yet where there were. I've run this mission 7 times before during the first run of phase I.

I've never noticed a distinction in effectivness with that strategy. But then with the strategy that is outlined above the battle is over within minutes.l

The way I've observed it working is that Darkmoon heals the crystals, the crystals heal Mallichae, and Mallichae heals Darkmoon.
Can do the entire quest EASILY with just a buffed master rifleman. (doesn't even need armor) Simply concealshot the crystals while under cover, and then proceed to eliminate the sith one by one, sniper style. Then move over to Mallichae and concealshot him. Takes about 20-30 minutes with a fair T21.

I did with 2 characters Master Doc/CM split Mellichae and Daxter from main group, Swordsman took out Crystals, Sith, Daxter in that order. Doc/Cm (with novice Marksman ranged support only) dropped a Spider Mind poison on him and ran like the wind (suicide mission). It took 2 of these poisons and 8 minto leave him with the strenght of a house fly so the Swordsman (one hit dropped hit) finished his mission. TwoCharacters same operator. Mellichae's 80% resist to everything does not apply to Mind Poisons.
