maybe im just dumb but I cant find info anywhere to verify this...do I need to max out every weapon skill (rifle, carbine, pistol) to get master marksman and move on to something else (ie combat medic) ?

You need level IV in every skill of a profession to get master. However, you only need to meet the prereqs of another profession to move into it. For instance, in the marksman line, you need Pistol IV to qualify for Pistoleer (you still need a lot of pistol xp to qualify for it.) You can continue to work on marksman skills and work on pistoleer at the same time.

if I do do something like that...say move into pistoleer...should I still get marksman mastery? or say if I go to be a commando...do I only do the line in brawling that leads to commando (with the required skills in marksman) or is there any point of becoming a master brawler?....hmm...I wonder if theres enough points to make commando-creature handler...I wish hehe

You will have 81 points left after you master commando. You can pick up some boxes in CH but you won't have enough to master it.

Is there any point to mastering the FS professions.

There's no skills there, but is ther a badge or something.....?

No point at all. I suppose they are there just for the mechanics of the skill trees to work. Instead of special programming the trees and its interface, it was probably easier to add a master at the top that did nothing.

Not too sure.. when I was smuggler, with slicing IV and working my way up to Master Smuggler, even though none of the other skills in smuggler increase your slicing ability since its all random, my percentages kept going up. Before Igot to master, I was slicing at about25 to 40%. At Master, I pretty much was slicing things mostly over 40%, I had a few 48's 49's too. So even though the box doesn't say there are any skill mods there, I noticed a difference between master smuggler and not having master.

Could be something there?

I learned the Master Combat Prowess box, just because I could - before they did away with App points. Figured I may as well learn it because I could. I really wish (even if it didn't offer any actual benefits) that it would grant me a new title, Force Sensitive Combat Prowess Master or something.

My only guess is that the Devs felt that bonuses to the Master box didn't make sense because of the 0 skillpoint requirement. Any other Master box in a combat profession has no xp requirement, but requires 6 skill points. If they put benefits into the Master Combat Prowess box at the cost of 6 skill points, the end result would be 6 fewer skill points for your Jedi template.

plus it leaves them room to add in extra skills at a later date to the master box if they wish to.
