Thread: Phase IV HELP Request

Folks,
I need some help if you can tell me something I am doing wrong. I finished the Phase IV quest for melee defense and was told by Capt Sarguillo to go away I had my plate full. So I go off and work on building up Unarmed XP. I come back the next day and try to trade in my 100k (more or less) scouting xp, and my 130k (more or less) of DNA Sampling XP for force xp so that I can get the requisite 50k Force Reflex XP for Novice Enhanced Reflexs. But whenever I try to talk to Paemos he tells me that he will convert my xp but then only shows my combat stuff....none of my scout/DNA Sampling xp shows up for conversion. Am I doing something wrong? I've got a 100k of banked combat force xp, and tried talking to the trainer for Novice but all he tells me is that I am either not eligible for the skill or when I ask what I can learn next he tells me that after I get 50k of Force Reflex XP I can learn Novice.
I know everyone has been talking about a Phase IV bug but I thought that was only if you were coming back a second time after getting Ranged and then wanted the melee or vice versa. I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer on this.

force reflex requires combat related xp only........crafting, scouting, MCH...all that xp is for the other 2 branches.
enhanced reflex and combat prowes = combat, weapon, squad leader, bounty hunter XP
crafting mastery and heightened senses = all the rest

I'm just using straight weapons and combat xp for FS reflex xp, I'm not what else can be used for reflexes though.

Found something..
Combat & Reflex xp
- Weapons (any type)xp 30:1
- Combat xp 3:1
- Squad Leader xp 90:1
- Bounty Hunter Investigation xp1:1
That should explain why.. your other xp can't be converted into reflex xp.

Thanks for the clarification, guess I was a little confused. But then that begs my next question....I've got over 100k of banked Combat Force XP so why can't I unlock? Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there still some mistake I'm making?

Well, Have you done the Hightened Senses unlock quest? If you have, then you can talk to Noldan to get your boxes trained.

So you have 100K of banked Combat Prowess xp? Have you unlocked a Combat Prowess branch by doing the appropriate quest? If so you can use that xp to train the Prowess Novice box at least. Melee Defence is an Enhanced Reflex branch, as such it requires Reflex xp. If you have unlocked Melee Defence, then you must ask Paemos to convert your xp to Reflex xp, once you have enough banked Noldan can train you as Reflex Novice and up the Melee Defence branch. You can convert "normal" xp to various types of Force Sensitive xp until your eyes bleed, banking millions of points, but unless you've completed the appropriate quest to unlock the associated branch, you won't be able tospend that FS xp to train any boxes.

One of the nice things is that you can indeed bank the exp even if you haven't unlocked its corresponding branch. This allows you to keep your template intact for maximum grinding efficiency. Then you can surrender skills as needed to train the 24 boxes in 6 branches needed to get the exit quest. I've been banking heightened senses exp via scouting exp even though I haven't unlocked the branch yet. No need in letting scouting exp go to waste.
