Thread: a thought on grouping and Jedi

Maybe it's due to boredom and servers being down ect but I had a thought on grouping and Jedi..and I know this topic has been beaten to death but...it seems kind of silly to me that after 2 years of playing when the next phase comes and I pick up initiate and Padawan...effectively I can no longer group with my friends unless I want to use TK or sit back and do nothing...kind of takes the multiplayer part out..and for me alot of the RP potential and immersion value.

It seems completely ridiculous to me that grouped friends or rebel/imperial friendlies would report you when your fighting for their cause. I mean...the rebellion searched out Obi Wan for his help...not turned him over to bounty hunters. Now alot of people will undoubtably scream about grouping making it easier to grind Jedi...and to them I say yes, maybe slightly but lets not forget the 6 months it takes to get here...and the months it will take to complete the template to be content for 2 day grind elite professions...we're essentially paying to be your in game cash cows, now go away. as I was saying...

What if the idea was implemented to willingly report a Jedi character? say a jedi is within your group and suddenly he starts throwing lightning and takes out a lightsaber...as a result you would get a pop up window asking you if you would like to report this person to a bounty hunter terminal. If you click no then you don't...if you click yes you give them visibility. At least give people a choice...I mean seriously would your guildies and friends especially from an RP standpoint want to kill you? or if your playing the master apprentice type thing would they send a BH after you? probably not...unless they have a vendetta or are just plain mean. Regular Visibility rules still apply obviously, non grouped characters and NPC's ect..

As for the whole easy grind thing...one, every grind is easy no matter what it is, some just take longer, this is about playing with your friends. Second if you can consistantly find someone you would trust not to report you in this way every day who is willing to hunt with you 8 hours a day then wow cudo's to you, because I don't know any....especially not any groups. It would be anonymous anyway so who knows what someone might do eh? Maybe someone might think this would be a good idea, maybe most won't but I think it might be fun....and in the very least it could allow for Jedi to play the master apprentice role, something that is an integral part of SW history and the whole idea behind Jedi both light and dark yet it's something that currently none of them can play out. Food for thought now to check server status again

I think Jedi might be the last of the Solo chars and that is why it is an isolationists grind. Considering nobody is going to rat out thier friends, I doubt this system would work. I hear what your saying, you have 5 Padawan Jedi grinding, one doesn't know what will happen if they get turned in? Like they are really going to say anything? Still, if you could group a 5 group of Padawan Jedi, let the BH come as long as he has to beat all 5 of you.

Not so, not unless he has a bounty on all 5 of the padawans grouped together, don't forget the system was changed so that fighting is between the BH and Jedi regardless of group, even healing is locked so neither can be helped in that regard either.

Yep, I know. Only way to help a Jedi is if you find a BH naive enough to be overt/ Opposite faction. But I am talking turkey because I'm neither Jedi or force sensetive. I don't think any old people came to visit me.. you can't kill them can you?
