Ok, no one has responded yet but I have an idea. I have read a post here where you can't get incapped and you have to receive the items in the right order. Force Crystal first, then datapad. I have the datapad. My girlfriend is going to take the datapad from me and hold it, then I will wait for the old man to come visit me and he will give me back the Force Crystal. Then she will give me the datapad and maybe it would work then? What do you all think?

Ok, didn't work. Won't let me trade it in a backpack or by itself. This is ridiculous!

i got some of the same crap going on to , the old man was like my shadow for a while . i was wating to chage my timp for master commando and M carbs to M carbs and BH 0444 and smuggler 4000 . now i have the timp i wont ,so i was like ok old man all talk you now hehe and what dont ya konw i got the bug lol i cant see the force crystal , this sux

Ok, now the old man finally speaks to me and gives me the crystal back and I still can't use the data pad. So listen up folks..it's gotta work this way. You MUST get the crystal from the old man. Then beat the Sith and NOT get incapped at all. Then it will work. Also you can't have someone else do the kill, you must do the kill. You can get help though. It's just not going to work any other way.

The Sith Shadows beat me the first time I encountered them too (I was unprepared, plain and simple). If they incap you, they steal back the Force Crystal and you fail the quest. So, you have to wait for the Old Man to come back (less than an hour) and anotherr Sith attack (12 or so hours).

i just killed the sith, i didnt get incapped, but i did have to burst run and heal. after i killed the second sith i looted it and went and looted the other one. i cant use the datapad, it says i have to loot it first to use it. what did i do wrong? to get them to come again to i destroy the datapad?

they came back just a few minutes after i posted this, i killed them again, just about the same way i killed them the first time, only i didnt run quite so far, also i looted the one i killed first before i looted the other guy. im killing the lvl 77 before the lvl 75. plz tell me if im doing anything wrong.

Pre-CU, you could get bugged if you looted the datapad before killing all the Sith attackers. Kill them all, then loot.Could be this is the issue here? I can't comment on whether or not getting incapped makes any difference, most people pre-CU found the Sith dead at their feet after loading into a player shuttleport LOL.

i loot after i kill, i have told not to forget that by my guild mates many times. im going to send a CSR ticket, a friend says that im probably bugged. i have been talking with a guy who is having the same problems, only he was having trouble before i got the sith the first time. thanks anyways

I had waits from 5 minutes to a day with the old man, 10 minutes to 3 days for the sith. I think I got lucky with the Old Man. And I feel dirty about it. I really need to cut back on the booze.

Correlating that with other posts, the one and only consistant thing with these guys appearance is it's sometime within three days (that's the end of 3 days, ie 36hours. Grouped, ungrouped, player city, wilderness, sitting and doing nothing (AKA surfing the web) or fishing / hunting / driving, I had it all happen.
