I agree completely, the village is interesting for the first 30 minutes, the xp conversions restrict the ablity of diffrent profs to be jedi, a scout/ranger has a great xp conversion but gets not so great skills. The ability to become a jedi should not be based on time grinding as it is, it should be a diffrent type of commitment, but as is i found the village thouroughly disapointing.

VERY selective quoting there.

Let me debunk all the posters original comments about not training Imperials:

"The people live a rustic and agricultural life; they bother no one, trade with no one, and cause no trouble for the Empire, the Rebellion, or any of the various criminal organizations that exist throughout the galaxy. They've hidden themselves in plain sight. They don't do anything to actively discourage anyone from finding them, which in itself keeps them off the radar of most governments. Though they have no formal training many of them have become quite confident in their abilities, and they have no qualms about teaching what they've learned to anyone who is willing to listen."

As far as the rest goes... it's all the same system with a different face.

I personally think there needs to be a new way of becoming a Jedi or perma-death or something. I hate seeing people walk into the cantina with their lightsaber out and ask stupid crap like "who's ready for some unneccessary Jedi healing??"

No new system is going to solve this though, and perma-death would piss me off since I've had my character since the day this game was released.

I think there should be another slaughter. A "Great Jedi Hunt" maybe. And freakin Vader should lead it. If some dumb Jedi is sitting in the cantina showing off his skills cuz nobody asked him to, I would love nothing more than for Vader to walk in and choke him, taking all the fun out of his life. XP loss and everything.

That would give Jedi a reason to hide...Light or Dark Jedi. There can only be two Sith, so you know Vader has no problem with killing Dark Jedi as well.

To be honest in the world of MMORPG's its a great idea. SWG is lacking in everything that makes an MMORPG as its just one big grind with a shell of the Star Wars Universe to draw in people.

The idea of changing the Village im all for especially what another guy said on the previous page about making it like Pilot. Pilot was extremly fun to work on up to Master (even though it was a bit TOO easy) but the combinations of missions and exp was amazing in the way it works. The village as you said is really very odd when you try and match up the threads between these force sensitive refugees and light/dark Jedi as its nearly non-existant.

The way the Village was planned out seemed great and as someone else said for the first 30 minutes it was great. But then the coolness wore off and it was a big grind (even though double exp made me finish my grind in 2 days ). Im still not a fan of the 3 week waiting on the phase change as if your good enough to earn the exp earlier then TBH you should get your trials a lot sooner (although if u 'exploited' double exp week/weekend you deserve to wait 3 phase changes like im doing).

For the people who say 'they wont change it or do you want everyone to get screwed over?' are just ignorant and dont understand in the gaming industry, especially MMORPG's you need change as the competition nowadays is just one step behind (or many steps ahead if we look at it from a SWG aspect).

Someone else said when they first started off they only saw a select few of Jedi, and i can completly relate to this as i only saw around 3-5 before the Village was launched. Even though im wanting Jedi im being a hypocryte because i bought and pay monthly for this game because the first question i asked when i heard about SWG was "can i be a jedi?". If something isnt done soon to keep the loyalists loyal and the new players from flocking in and STAYING then ill be straight back off to EQ2 where the devs, CSR's and community is 75% better.

Have fun my peeps with ur discussions.

Trust me we're not going to cry after you leave with a comment like that. It's people like you that bring this community down. I love the community here ESPECIALLY in Corb.

Unfortunately, your incorrect, in that you fail to 'debunk' anything. What the quote above says is they dont make trouble for the Empire. Not making trouble for people who want to destroy you, and training them to use the force(whish makes them more powerful), are two entirely different things. Also, the above quote is simply wrong. Hidden in plain sight? They made their village 5 THOUSAND meters away from the nearest starport, on a planet that the vast majority of the galaxy(as far as the star wars story goes), stay far far away from. They've hidden themselves yes, but hardly in 'plain sight'. Also, its wrong in another aspect. It says they do nothing to actively discourage people from finding them... except give people missions to go destroy Sith who are trying to find(and kill) them. The Empire would(according to the Dev's story they created for the village, listed in the first post) do the exact same thing the Sith would, if they could get to the village.

However, that's the official quotation, which you chose to leave out in reference to SOE's design.
